Hiya my names Artemis but most people call me Art/Artie! I use they/them pronouns and I love what stories we can tell through the beautiful medium of movies! I really dont remember what was the first movie I watched (cut me some slack I was 3!!), but going to the theaters with my parents from a young age really opened my mind to what movies can do. I dont have a Letterboxd or any dedicated social media account pertaining to movies (Id be REALLY annoying if I did), but even 1-3 months I do post a review on my Spacehey blog if its a movie I really like/have a strong connection to. If you check my profile you can see some of my fave movies and shows (obvs I have more but those are like my top choices). Anyway its very nice to meet yall!!

My name is Sara. My pronouns are she/her. I don't remember the first movie I ever watched but it was probably a Disney princess movie XD My favorite director would probably have to be Tim Burton I just love anything spooky but I can't forget Martin Scorsese and Stanley Kubrick. Favorite genre of movie is psychological thriller and my least fav would have to be rlly long romance movies that have 0 angst. I haven't really seen any "movie mistakes". I love movies because I get to step out of my own reality and enter a world in which somebody else created. I have so many favorite actors but the three that pop up in my head are Al Pacino, Angelina Jolie, and Leonardo DiCaprio. My favorite movie is probably Interview with a Vampire.

I haven't watched any movies when I was young, had no idea what they are, and therefore didn't care. But as I was preteen Tarantino made me fall in love with cinema! Reservoir Dogs (1992) made me so curious about all the other things films could offer me and since then I wasn't the same (‾◡◝)

• What is your favorite and least favorite trope?

Luv ambiguous characters and can't stand the 'miscommunication' conflicts

• What's a movie mistake you can never unsee?

Not really a mistake, but hell does the overly done lighting just ruin the atmosphere sometimes... Like, nah, this minimum wage guy definitely doesn't have colour LEDs and softbox in his bedroom.

• Why do you like movies?

It's fascinating how in just 2 hours of runtime you can experience so much as a viewer! Whole worlds can be told! Film is a perfect form of storytelling, capable of achieving things no other could done.

Reservoir Dogs (1992) is the one I usually name. But I am also found of Last Year at Marienbad (1961), The Day of the Jackal (1973), Mulholland Drive (2001), Sin City (2005), Ikiru (1952) and Vertigo (1958)

My favorite is dreams or hallucinations telling the character (and the audience)  how they feel subconsciously.

My least favorite is definitely nerd to beautiful, I think it’s stupid and enforces conformity and the message of it is to never be yourself because you will be superficially liked.

In home alone when the bags Kevin is carrying break, no tide detergent falls out but he just bought it in the store.

Why do you like movies?

I like art in general because I like immersing myself in the expression of a piece and I feel really connected to art but I like movies because they make me feel like I am in the life or perspective it’s being told from and i think that’s a very valuable experience

Hey, you can call me by my spacehey name :) i use she/her, and the first movie that made an inpact on me was bridge to terabithia, it is so amazing. my least favourite tropes are love triangles... i detest them. get it away from me. my favourite movie is probably Bound or The Crow (1994), and my favourite actor changes all the time, but right now i really like Matt Bomer and Florence Pugh :)

Do you have a favorite actor? What makes them stand out? Judd Nelson, Ralph Macchio, and Oscar Issac. They are all very experienced and are in some of my favorite movies as of now. Also, their interviews are very entertaining to watch. Ralph has a book that was very immersive and details his life within the film industry, and some personal details and advice. Very good memoir.

favorite directors? roy andersson is the closest to a perfect match for me. i also love david lynch (obviously), but andersson hits deeper in a way.

favorite trope? least favorite? i don’t really have a favorite trope. my least favorite is the suffering revenge guy who chain-smokes and broods (though it can work if done right).
