kodocha, which was released in 1996! It has 2 seasons and it’s cute romcom like anime, I would always rewatch when I’m bored!!

Ouran Highschool host club! TBH it might be harsh content compared to this day and age, but I remember watching it as a kid and I rewatch it at least once a year! made in 2006 (^~^)

Princess tutu will always hold a special place in my heart as my favourite magical girl anime
It’s a sad story where princess tutu searches for pieces of her beloved’s broken heart
Also unlike most magical girl animes she gets the shit beaten out of her every other episode because she cannot fight she can only dance and evade which is both sad and fucking hilarious but maybe my humour is just broken

Vampire Knight is from 2006 and is really cool to watch. I like it because of all the vampires.
Ouran Highschool Host Club is also one of my favs.

Tenchi muyo and golden boy are my go to series if I want that cool 90's feel but there are others such as outlaw star and el-hazard and the record of lodoss war OVA and the old ah my goddess OVA but if you want some thing more 80's then shows like city hunter and the macross series and bubblegum crisis are all great shows and if you want stuff from the 2000's then shows like elfen lied and princess resurrection and wolfs rain and spice and wolf and welcome to the NHK are some favorites of mine from that era.
Also this other show called Tasogare otome x amnesia is from 2012 so maybe not technically retro but its one of my personal favorites and I recommend it to everyone.
