We've been hearing tons of military aircraft since the Ukraine war started and the local police deploy drones to look for people.
The increase in UFO sightings seems related, like they're trying to confuse people as to what they're seeing.

We live in Portland, near the air force base where they deploy the planes to patrol the West Coast. The jets have a very distinct engine noise, and they always leave contrails (nothing sinister, it has something to do with the level and speed at which they fly).
Anyway, before Russia invaded Ukraine, you would hear them maybe every 2 weeks. Now we hear them at least once a day; more if its raining, because that's when they move the experimental ones people aren't supposed to get a good look at.
Portland is also seeing a massive wave of crime caused by cheap synthetic drugs. We're talking 70s NYC bad. There are constant warnings about streets being blocked off because the cops are looking for a violent suspect. Likewise, there are constantly police drones and helicopters flying overhead.
I think the government might be fanning the idea of space men because its hiding experimental tech that they're deploying in advance of civil unrest and the next war.
