I've been using DaVinci Resolve for a while and once you get the hang of it, its pretty handy. Nice layout, doesn't trouble me with useless subscriptions. I've still yet to figure out the colour grading on it though. If anyone has any good tutorials on it i'd be thankful.

After Effects and Sony vegas are always my go to. I tried Davinci Resolve but I never ended up liking it

I love Adobe Premiere! (unfortunately LOL) I also use After Effects on occasion but I am still teaching myself as I go with it. I want to learn DaVinci Resolve but I've had a hard time getting started. I sometimes dabble with Capcut just to mess around in (and then to shake my head at all the features it has that Adobe doesn't!)

Hey Dimiguss!
Your English is totally fine, and your point is spot on — HitFilm is awesome to start with, but DaVinci Resolve really shines when it comes to color grading. It does take some time to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, it’s super powerful.
I’ve been working on some game-related content myself — if you're into sports or game edits, check out my mod the spike project. It’s all about volleyball game mods and tweaks. Would love to know what you think!

I started off using Lightworks and eventually moved to Filmora for a while just because it was super simple. But when I started messing around with more effects-heavy edits, like for skate videos and short skits, it didn’t really give me the flexibility I wanted. I tried Resolve — amazing for color like everyone says — but the workflow felt a bit much for casual projects. It also ran kind of clunky on my older setup.
If you're just experimenting or doing projects for fun or YouTube, I came across this list of free video editing software that helped me weigh other options pretty easily. There’s a mix of tools for different types of editors, from beginners to folks who want more advanced features. You can check on https://www.movavi.com/learning-portal/free-video-editing-software.html

I gotta start using davinci, I’ve been using filmora which is great for basic things but I’m pretty sure you can’t use any plugins or nothing. Also does a weird thing with certain types of video files, completely butchering the audio recorded on my Lumix camera, though launching it in CapCut for desktop it sounds fine. It is good for beginners but I see a lot more potential elsewhere. I also am a fan of the buy once own 4 life thing, subscriptions feel just like scams.
When I’m on the go I’ll use CapCut when I have enough storage on my phone to download it, though it usually is for memes.
On a day I’m feeling goofy I’ll use Windows Movie Maker.
If I’m desperate I’ll use iMovie on an overheated MacBook.

Hey! I totally understand your dilemma. I've heard great things about DaVinci Resolve, especially for color grading. The learning curve can be steep though, definitely a different workflow than what you're used to. I'm curious if the skills translate? Kind of like how being good at downhill skiing might help you pick up a game like Snow Rider 3D quickly because you already have a sense of momentum and balance. Anyway, I'm using Premiere Pro right now and contemplating a switch myself. Thanks for sharing!
