Whats your LEAST favorite horror movie? [closed]

Enough of your fuckin favorites. Tell us what you dislike and why.

I'll go first. I feel like the Blair Witch Project was boring, though I respect its place as one of the first found footage horrors. The Shining is also lame because if I wanted to watch a father terrorize his family, I'd raise my own father from his grave.

Ngl, your last sentence made me laugh, sorry though

I'm not a fan of Friday the 13th - whole series of movies. I dislike any form of sympathetic horror villain though..also it lasted too long with a LOT of dumb additions just to keep it going

the entire insidious series. far too convoluted, and relies too heavily on jump scares rather than actually creating creepy/good writing. the whole thing just feels like pandering

So, the thing about the Exorcist is that by today's standards...yeah, it's not a thrill ride. However, you have to remember at the time it had two major things going for it that you didn't see anywhere else...yet.

First off, its director, William Friedkin came from a documentary background. He brought that aesthetic to his films, which is one of the reasons why this film and something like The French Connection were so exciting to audiences back then. The camera had a lot of kinetic energy.

Also, and this is the biggie...there was a lot of sound design used in the film. We take that for granted these days, but back then this wasn't the norm.

They were used stuff like bees buzzing and rats scurrying even though there aren't any bees or rats in the film. It was just there to creep you the hell out.

I can't like the Scream series no matter how hard I try. I blame the first Scream for this. It tainted all of the others. Nothing scary about 2 high school kids thinking its cool to kill people.

I respectfully disagree, as someone who regularly feared for their life that middleschoolers would kill me. It is terrifying

i acknowledge their importance within modern horror but i absolutely loathe the thought of watching one of the conjuring movies ever again (includes all spinoffs like annabelle). they're so unbelievably boring.

I have a few, the first one is Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The whole concept of people who live in the middle of no where basically that kill people. It just felt to easy to make a horror movie out of ill bread, uneducated, backwoods, hillbillies.

My second movie is Paranormal Activity. I know it's suppose to be scary but it just seems so staged and so fake that it's hard to be into a movie that suppose to be scary. It feels like all it is is behind the scenes on how they go about making a horror movie. That the element of what is suppose to be a horror movie isn't even in these movies.

Third movie is The Ring. I have seen it a few times and don't see how this movie was suppose to be scary. I found nothing about this movie that screams horror movie to me. It's like oh wow an extremely soaking wet person with hair in their face is walking towards the scream

Fourth movie is the 2017 It. Mainly because I read the book It and granted both versions of It have there issues. But what made me not like the remake one that much was because Pennywise was described as a look-a-like to Bozo the Clown. Which looks more like a friendly clown than what the remake was, that when you see it you know it's scary. That's what makes that story creepy, is your brain is telling you what you are seeing is something that's suppose to be a happy thing that does silly things and makes ballon animals. But the remake they made him scary right off the bat taking away what Pennywise was meant to be. A evil creature going after the fears of children who as kids sees a clown they were told all there lives is good, only to find out when it's to late isn't good. And that is how he gets them.

Tusk, I had heard from people that Tusk was, "horrifying, gory, psychological" and PLENTY of other things. I wouldn't even put it in the horror genre-it was just a weird comedy for me. Your actually going to tell me that some old dude making humans into walrus's is horrifying? lol

The first Halloween movie. I didn't find Micheal Myers scary nor did I find what he represents to be interesting. His character is essentially to be the embodiment of pure evil or the sinister presence in the modern day comfort of your own neighborhood. There's so many movies nowadays that do exactly that but have far more compelling villains and characters. He's more realistic than other slashers but realistic Horror honestly just doesn't do it for me.

Any horror movie that relies way too much on jumpscares , the newer blair witch , a few halloween and friday the 13th movies but those can be funny so i forgive them
basically anything that just wants a quick buck and u can rll see the creators dont give a shit about the movie
edit: wanted to add smt else , theres movies i dont like like sequals but in general i cant say for many movies i hate them cuz i can understand what theyre going for and esspecially if they have an impact on the horror ganra so i avoid saying i hate spesific movies

How can anybody hate Creep? The writing and setup were great, the second one was just as good. The whole point of that movie was to make the viewer just as unsettled as the guy "filming" it. That movie was underrated af.

As for movies I hated, probably the Annabelle series, and Insidious.. a lot of the newer big production horror movies rely wayy too heavily on jumpscares imo :/

the conjuring series ESPECIALLY the latest one :/ im usually a skittish person but that movie was laughably bad especially with their jumpscares and how hard they were trying- and i really love the original scream but... its sequels were just not good :/ ive only watched 1-3 and i lost interest with scream 2 and 3 as i was watching them :( i really tried to like them but i just couldnt which disappoints me because i love ghostface as a whole, his sly witty remarks and his charisma in the 1st movie made him iconic but in the other movies, he just didnt have any flare and was just there to chase sydney and the others around

actually i take back slaughtered vomit dolls because i watched that but theres a movie so gruesome and vile i cant even watch it and its snuff 102. its about a man who becomes so infatuated with snuff films (basically just torture porn except not bdsm legit murder and other gross things) and he starts making it. i have only heard about it and saw screenshots but i don't recommend watching it

i cant remember where i watched it but there was this movie called 'White Settlers'.

it's about an English couple that moves to Scotland and these Scottish people don't like them. throughout the movie they chase them out of their house and through the woods trying to catch them. the English couple kill some of them so you think that the Scottish want to do the same but at the end of the movie they just knock them out and put them in a park across the border. so there wasn't much threat in the first place.

TLDR: English couple think Scottish people are scary and now its a movie.

I'm a huge fan of the original Ringu and I cannot STAND the american remake. Everyone says its so good but its just ringu with white people, a blue filter, and unnecessary gore and shocking imagery. I also just find it weird that they made Sadako/Samara a kid when she was a grown adult in the original films (ik it was a reference to the evil "child" sadako that existed, but it's a strange choice nonetheless)
