a pretty popular one but still heavily underrated, Berserk. A really good dark fantasy series even though it still isn’t finished and is known for its super long hiatuses.

An underrated one: Kings' Viking. It's a hacking manga, and has a definite shounen feel to it.

If you like dark fantasy with a bit of humor, "Yokai Rental Shop" is pretty good. It doesn't seem well known, but I stumbled upon it in a local library and enjoyed the first few stories.

A Silent Voice. It's pretty short so it shouldn't be too long of a read. If I remember correctly, there are 7 volumes.

I can share some I can recommend:
- Blame! if you like cyberpunk stuff and gritty art;
- Run away with me, girl for some (adult) lesbians with comphet (it does have a DV moment so a warning);
- Otoyomegatari if you like to read a manga about muslims in the mid 19th century with a cast of interesting, strong women of all ages and with a dash of costume porn;
- Devilman - it's a classic and an inspiration for NGE and Berserk;
- Berserk - it's also a classic with next level art (TW it has gore and women being in very bad situations);
- Hosaka-sensei no Ai no Muchi if you wanna read the story between two daycare workers and their wacky romance;
- Innocent and Innocent Rogue if you're down with reading about a family of top executioners during the French Revolution. Also if you're ready to fall in love with Marie-Joseph Sanson (TW it has gore and children being in bad situations, also suicide);
- Chainsaw Man it's an entertaining read with an anime adaptation on its way;
- My Brother's Husband for some realistic representation of overcoming homophobia;
- Sesame salt and Pudding for a wholesome, HEALTHY age gap relationship;
- Uzumaki succumb to the eternal spiral;
- Solanin (and Goodnight Punpun) for that sweet, sweet emotional damage;
- Death Note - c'mon it's a classic (must warn that the portrayal of women isn't the best in it if it's something you're bothered with);
- My Lesbian experience with loneliness if you wanna read a biographical manga;
- Claudine if you wanna read about a transman who's also a whole Chad;
- Tomoi technically a ''yaoi'' but it has realistic queer characters and is set at the AIDS pandemic. No happy ending here;
- Honnou Switch for some sweet friends to lovers content. Has spicy moments;
- Our Dreams at Dusk if you're down for a vibrant cast of queer characters;

since you’ve read xxxholic, i reccomend tsubasa reservoir chronicles! it take place in the same fictional universe as that series. in general, pretty much most of the manga written by CLAMP is good.

cetnaur no nayami is a good one if you're into the regular lives of monster girls and how realistically different monster species would coexist. alice in borderland is a good manga and very suspenseful. golden kamuy is a somewhat comedic but also very suspenseful and good historical manga. dorohedoro is a good and atmospheric horror manga. innocent and innocent rouge are also very good historical manga, which beautiful art and a tragic plot, but there is a lot of graphic gore scenes, so i'd warn you about that.

for some psychological fuck up shit, id go with blood on the tracks by shuzo oshimi. be warned though its pretty unsettling at times. just for a normal personal favorite and more popular manga of mine id suggest reading the promised neverland by kaiu shirai and posuka demizu. the animes really good too and id also recommend that if youve never seen it (theres only 12 episodes because the second season, we just pretend it never happened).

the top ones i'm reading rn are
usotsuki
kedamonotachi no jikan
usotsuki satsuki shi ga mieru
the top is a romantic story
but last 2 r "horror"
the 2nd needs a trigger warning; r*pe, kidnapping, m*rder, i*cest, things of tht nature.
i personally connect with that 1, but I also understand if it makes some1 else shut down so read @ ur own discretion
