i remember i used to watch creepy youtube videos when i was like around like twelve lol. so i think that is really what made me be drawn to horror stuff. i find a real nostalgia in weird / surreal creepy youtube horror and stuff like that. and the memory of scaring myself lol. what really properly got me into horror genrr was the magnus archives though.

omg wait i actually love telling people this because its so silly
I liked this person, and i used to be absolutely terrified of anything spooky (even very poorly edited mlp creepypasta stuff)
but they loved horror and i really really wanted them to like me too, so i watched all their favourite horror movies even if it gave me the worst nightmares as a young teen (; 0v0)

anyways, we're still dating to this day and now i love horror so much, its my go to for anything.

Well as a exact idea how that happens i mean, how i got into horror, i do not have an exact idea, but it began when i was a kid, since ever i was a curious one, and always looking for new knowledge about the world and its misterious. Then, looking and looking for more info about basically everything i found this passionate thing called as horror or  paranormal nicho, well. That basically what happen to me xD

i'll be honest - i'm a scaredy cat and hated horror movies when i was younger! but as i got to know my internet bestie, we created a safe space where i was able to eventually get into the beautiful art of horror movies as long as we watched them together :3

i was always into horror aspects as a kid, watching crime documentaries with my mom as a young child built me how i am today. the first film to get me into specifically the horror slasher genre was the texas chainsaw massacre (1974) and i will never go back to my non-slasher self.

Someone else said Scooby Doo,and honestly I think that's the same for me. I used to be into a lot of creepy shows when I was much younger like Caspers Scare School,Invader Zim,and a bunch of Tim Burton films. My grandma is also into horror a lot as well and we bond together as we make fun of the special effects :D

When I was about 8 or so my older sister decided that I would watch horror movies with her. The only specific movies I remember from that time would be the unborn (which is pretty ass) and Hush (which still holds up as a movie I hold dear)

when i was 11 my dad wanted to watch a horror movie with me and my sister just so we had the experience, so we watched The Conjuring and afterwards i turned to my dad and said “can we watch more of these?” could be because i watched gore at the time (bad idea), but horror instantly clicked for me as a genre.

but, if we wanna get technical, ive always adored Halloween episodes as a kid. even if i hated a show or never watched it, there’s a 90% chance i searched for the Halloween episode of it.

I remember spending the night at my mom's house and for some reason she decided to put on "The Boy". scared younger me. also my very first horror movie when I was like 5 years old was 9. scared me shitless. cause my parents and siblings went to the store after the movie was over so they left me and my little brother home. my little brother was sleeping on my leg so I couldn't get up. the credits were playing, I was just chilling. then I started hearing footsteps behind me, and behind me was the kitchen. the living room and kitchen were connected. and I would hear the footsteps every few seconds going left and right. of course I was scared. the music from the movie wasn't helping. meanwhile my little brother was still sleeping. eventually, my family came back and I got up, told my dad and guess what this man did?! he went into the hallway and yelled "YOU BETTER GET THE F*** OUT OF MY HOUSE AND LEAVE MY FAMILY ALONE!!!". yeah, never again.

traumatized

as a young child i was OBSESSED with coraline, that served as a gateway for young me to look for scary videos as a young child. i used to watch anything scary on youtube as a masochistic way to entertain myself to the point where i'd stay up sleepless sometimes. once i got old enough and had the courage to watch horror movies with my older sister and her boyfriend, i'd join them and we would get snacks and watch anything scary on netflix or hulu. good memories.

i was always drawn to the spooky and scary from i was very little. i loved watching tv shows like courage the cowardly dog, and halloween TV specials were my favorite. i devoured the goosebumps books from my school library and my older sister's collection. the very first horror movie i was allowed to watched was signs when i was maybe 11, and after that i goaded my friends into watching horror movies with me at every sleepover. still a tradition to this day. in middle school i got really into zombies, and creepy pasta. now i'm very into horror games (especially from the 90s and 00s) and horror books. it's just kind of been a natural progression my entire life.
