I suppose my parents were just little freaks from always. They weren’t super prudish about what things do I watch and didn’t shoo me away from indulging in gory/turpistic/horror media since I remember, oftentimes watching adult cartoons or explicit movies (like bad boy Bubby that I remember or Włatcy Móch). It just was there since always and I kind of inherited my tastes in media from them, to a degree. Besides, Poles just kind of are freaks and it seems like turpism is intertwined with our culture.

My parents really loved horror growing up, so ive always was very fond of horror. I personally think when I got very heavily into it was maybe around 6th grade when I was figuring out who I am as a person and what I like.

So, I knew about horror through video games, I remember watching my dad play Resident Evil 2 when I was younger. But I think what got me into horror was probably my anxiety? I was going through a lot when I was 14-15 (pretty bad bullying, some medical diagnoses, etc) and I started drawing "horror" art as a way to cope with everything. That led to me finding horror games again because I got recommended a RE7 playthrough on youtube, and I basically fell down the rabbit hole from there :3

i loved monster high as a kid and had always been interested in horror movies and sometimes watched them with my parents even tho my mom didnt always think it was age appropriate for me to watch horror haha. but the definite point was probably when my dad fell asleep watching Eden Lake and i watched it bc my tablet battery was dead and i didnt wanna look for the cable. since then i really liked horror movies. i was about 9 at the time

terminal anxiety brain made horrors beyond reason long before i knew people LIKED the feeling. then when i found out people actively seek media for it, it became an emotional regulatory tool and then!!! i just liked the visual effects >:3c screamin mad george. my splinko <3 my wimbly pimblo <3 It became a way to see my dreams and fears as reality and be able to feel fear safely! simply just going "well the evil killer isnt real. foolish" boom, movies not scary but still a visual delight! I also am a SUCKER for comedy horror, done well of course. Killer Klowns is movie, of all time, ever <333

I got into watching horror films when I was around 11 years old, maybe even earlier, I vividly remember watching Scream (1996) alone in my room at a ungodly hour of the night. Not my favorite horror film of all time, but I will always remember it as my first horror film ever watched ^^

uhhh idk I always loved scary things, but I think it really started in like second or third grade of elementary school with slenderman, fnaf, jeff the killer etc. and creepypastapunch's videos on youtube (I'm still a huge fan of him hes my childhood youtuber lol) and yeah ive watched short horror movies on youtube with my friends in 4th grade and then a little bit later in 5th grade ive watched scream 4 when i was home alone and that basically started it.

My parents both introduced me to horror at a young age. I would watch paranormal documentaries and true crime shows (the real horror) with my mom, while my dad introduced me to films like Halloween, The Exorcist, and Nightmare on Elm Street. I've always been drawn to this genre.

I grew up watching movies like Gremlins, Critters etc, and shows like the Twilight Zone, Tales from the Darkside etc, so you could say the exposure to horror stayed with me since childhood, but then when I got introduced to games like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Parasite Eve, Soul Reaver, The Evil Within in my early teen yrs - because of the way these games told their stories, I gravitated to viewing more horror content, especally after I had experienced my own irl horrors to deal with. I think now, as an adult, I rather enjoy when game or film has a good story to tell.

Hard to pin point the exact timeline but when i was younger i read this collection of 3 short (child friendly ofc) horror stories and i really liked it ^-^i
I did go through a fnaf phase but idk how much that actually impacted it but it's worth mentioning that that happened
I was the most pathetic scardy cat you'd know for ages (got scared by a bandori story lmao) so i guess i wanted to change that and started watching a bunch of mild horror films this year and managed to get into the genre
I'd like to give most credit to Jennifer's body though

but they loved horror and i really really wanted them to like me too, so i watched all their favourite horror movies even if it gave me the worst nightmares as a young teen (; 0v0)
anyways, we're still dating to this day and now i love horror so much, its my go to for anything.
