Recording Technology or Audio Engineering students here?

Whats up!

I'm Love and I'm a Recording Technology student at Citrus college in LA County.
I'm in first year, but I have a couple years experience in digital composition and production.
The pandemic really helped me put my nose to the grind and get involved in the world of audio engineering.
Prior to this, I was primarily a song writer and vocalist, putting together 11 years in the industry.

Looking to connect with anybody else in the field to chat, share mixes, tutor, study, you name it.

Feel free to add me, or simply make yourself seen!
Let's get this community rolling!

Audio engineering is just using a DAW? I was expecting more of it like writing and contributing to an audio stack, designing the layout of a sound chip and prototyping them, and the like

haha no problem brotha, i’d love to see a real community here too!

ima geek out. all things audio! analog signal flow, wave theory, acoustics, power n basic electronics i.e. building cables, mics, speakers. there’s live sound reinforcement.. digital audio principles (bit depth, sample rates, conversion theory), sound design. recording techniques span studio work, field recording, and post-production for film.

a DAW like pro tools is just a tool in the chain.. once you understand the fundamentals, working in one is ez work. you can even get certified in pro tools, which matters in major studios (if you're into that) since it proves you can work efficiently under pressure.

but beyond that.. there’s tons of different directions you can take in audio, if you love it enough x
