We are about 80% there as you can see from the other threads of smooth brained communists looking for other "comrades".

i think america is so used to having really right-leaning values so what we here in europe would call "centrist" americans see as radical left-leaning takes almost communistic

Completely agree with @michi006. The words, communism and socialism this completely lost their meaning in the media in America. These concepts are not foreign or weird. We need to do more to catch up to the rest of the world. Our system is archaic. Communism is nowhere near taking over the country, but I think we would do better if we took some ideas out of the socialist book. I am in no way a communist or socialist! But people in

"no but late stage capitalism is giving rise to fascism in the usa"
You're not just wrong; you're retarded. First, there is no such thing as late-stage capitalism because capitalism doesn't have stages. Second, nationalist sentiments are at an all-time low, and nationalism is one of the key ingredients in fascism that you don't find in communism.

Katie, "Late-Stage Capitalism" doesn't really refer to a specific stage of capitalism but more like a descriptor term for the highly advanced and globally integrated form of capitalism that we currently have. Think of all the tech giants, Nestle, Blackrock and so on... THATS late-stage capitalism. Something that didn't exist in the 1800s-1940s
What we see in society now is 1 of two things with very few people in between:
1. Malicious acceptance of; or the embracement of whatever the oligarchs say. IE fascists, nationalists, fundamentalists etc
2. People hypernormalizing society
Oh yh, what we're seeing today isn't a lack of nationalism, but rather a more insidious and rebranded version of it. It manifests as border fetishism, militarized policing, cultural purity narratives, culture wars and so on. Fascism is essentially js capitalism turning towards violence to preserve itself. aka whenever liberal democracy is shown to be a sham and class conciousness cannot be contained by it; they turn towards violence to save their asses. My proof? Literally Trump and his oligarch buddies usurping democracy.

No, communism is not taking over the United States. honista The U.S. remains a capitalist democracy with a mixed economy. While debates over social programs and government roles exist, they do not equate to communism. Political discourse reflects differing views, but fundamental American institutions and market systems remain firmly in place.
