Forum: Food and Restaurants

I miss being in the office. Me and my co-workers would always exchange teas and cookies and stuff every morning. It was a good way to bond. But now I'm working from home and you all are part of my office!

What's your favorite hot beverage?
Do you enjoy any special snacks along with it?
Share your favorite coffee shop pairings or any recipes you think would help spice up a morning routine.

One of my favorites is this creme brulee tea . I pair it with ginger snaps!

If I'm having a coffee I like to keep it simple with a cappuccino usually.

Enjoy the photo below from a tea party I had with my friends a few years ago. I wish more ppl had tea parties xD.

i like making decaf coffee in the morning with 2 stevias and a splash of heavy cream. (i have anxiety and hbp so i try to stay away from caffeine)

i dont usually drink it with any food but sometimes i like to have it with a muffin or some melonpan.

if youre looking for a way to spice up your coffee try adding cinnamon to the coffee grounds before you brew it!

oh, i love any kind of tea, but especially the decaf chai roiboos (or however you spell that) that i make myself at home. one time i had a kind of heart-shaped french pastry-cookie with it, it was perfectly lovely :3

Been making 7 mochas a day lately lol, I use a slightly caramel flavoured coffee and 3 spoonfuls of hot chocolate, it's delicious, don't think I'll be able to go back to normal coffee once I run out (the brand I get atm is a bit pricey, particularly with shipping, I'm not too sure how often I'll restock on the hot coffee if I'm also getting the coffee).

When I'm out and about, though, I'll get iced coffee (it stays fit to drink longer so I tend to gravitate to it when I'm out). My safe bet it always caramel, but I also love pumpkin spice and honey and hazelnut. I do like chocolate chip cookies or ginger flavoured biscuits with them, but I also tend to enjoy them on their own too.

there's this tea store-- it's not very close so i can't go to it often, but-- that makes the most amazing blends! i'm a big fan of the pumpkin spice blend they have, i drink it with milk and a little sugar whenever i'm in a cozy mood.

I really enjoy puer tea and lapsang souchoung. I recommend them to all, but please buy them from a Chinese or artisan tea shop if you try them. The lapsang or puer you'll find at a store (besides a dedicated tea shop, excluding Teavana) is probably quite bad.

What a great idea, a tea party! i will try to have one with my friends.

Personally, most of my friends live far away from me and when i go to hang out with them at their city, we have this habit to go to cat cafe

i always love to try pastries or hot chocolate, even tho i love sweet, sometimes they are too much for me because i always feel the need to try everything ahah

  • White tea + vanilla bean scones, hazelnut macarons, almond croissant, raspberry cake.
  • Oolong or green tea + any mochi, rice bowl, tempura.
  • Black tea + breakfast biscuit, brownie, pan au chocolate.
  • Herbal teas + baguette with butter and jam, butter croissant, green salads.

I don't eat sweets anymore though, I'd normally eat these with starchy vegetables or grains to negate the acidity of the teas.

when i could still have caffeinated tea, i drank a lot of matcha lattes

now i can't really drink green/black/white/citrus/mint/any non-herbal tea so i drink hot chocolate

i usually make it with almond or 2% and i put sprinkles and cinnamon in it sometimes

the sprinkles don't really do anything other than add colour, though

Im a fan of having a strong coffee in the morning, it doesnt even wake me up but i enjoy the general taste of it. I remeber doing this a couple times, but id mix hot cocoa with my coffee and id end up with a chocolaty coffee?? Id add some milk and it was surprisingly really enjoyable ( its probably already a thing and has a name but i wanna feel special). Nothing beats a cup of coffee with a side of tea cookies too :))

I hate sleeping but I look forward to waking up every morning to brew a lovely cup of coffee! Sadly, I’m unable to have the specialty drinks I grew to love due to a disease that makes me limit my intake of certain things, but my favorite thing to drink now is a dark roast with honey and little bit of vanilla almond milk! Sooooo tasty.

I recently discovered my love for tea. I'm 29 and I've spent my whole life just drinking sweetened iced tea. I didn't really understand the appeal of any type of hot tea until a few months ago.

Now, tea is something I'm indulging in regularly, mostly at night. I prefer cold beverages in the morning since warm beverages make me sleepy no matter the caffeine content therein so I drink my teas at night, when the kids have gone to bed and I've got a quiet and warm house. My latest go-to has been this pomegranate-açai berry hibiscus green tea I get at Aldi, the Benner brand teas. Fantastic. It smells like a blueberry muffin in the package and the coloration while it steeps is beautiful. It tastes like a fruity-floral dream. My morning beverage is always an iced coffee of some sort and I always have a creamer to go in it. Usually, I'm stuck on a caramel creamer but this week, I went with a classic french vanilla (because it's all the Family Dollar had in terms of a liquid creamer.)

I wish tea parties were a thing more often where I live. We've been avoiding anything at my house with strangers in light of the pandemic but my kids got their second shots nearly two weeks ago (it'll be two weeks on this upcoming Monday) and we're gonna start throwing our own tea parties from now, on! If someone else won't do it, hell, I will!

I'm such a freak, I never get thirsty. I eat stew for breakfast so I
guess I have enough water in my system. Whenever I try making tea I
don't finish it quickly enough and it gets mouldy, eugh. I do sometimes
take coffee when I didn't sleep well. That's all, though.

I think tea parties are super cute. I had a couple of southeast Asian housemates in England who thought it was weird that everyone in England automatically went to booze for social stuff, they said they're used to having tea together instead.

I've gotten into making coffee, I bought some of those flavor syrups and I like experimenting with amounts. Since coffee doesn't really wake me up and its more the sugar that gives me energy and only really makes me dream more if I drink it before bed (thanks adhd), sometimes I'll mix the leftovers with warm milk and honey at night

there's a local coffee shop I go to all the time that I really love too, it's a small family owned business and always has a great atmosphere and a good selection of coffee and tea! I like to go in and do schoolwork there
