the Micheal Bay Transformers movies. will I say they were well written? never, they were dog. but will I praise the designs? absolutely
the designs of the Bayverse characters will forever and always be my favorite designs, solely from the view of a speculative xenobiologist. the designs truly feel alien, as they're meant to be, being giant alien robots. in the earlier movies, they're all new to earth and awkwardly fitting in, both 'Bots and 'Cons taking on weird bot modes to fit their earthly vehicle modes. as the movies progress, the Bots take a more human, more pleasant-to-look-at shape, hoping to seen as friendlier by the humans (ex. Drift looking like a Samurai, Crosshairs wearing a coat). the Decepticons have had no such reason to become friendlier, some even taking on scarier shapes in order to be more fear-inducing to the characters (ex. Barricade having four eyes in TLK, instead of two)
