I LOVE THIS SERIES!! The first book is about a girl named Juliette that has been locked up because she has the ability to kill people with a single touch. I love the romance in this book and i have to say Kenji is definitely my favorite character!
(the 3rd book, ignite me is my favorite)

The Window by Amelia Brunskill

It is personally one of my favorite books, but opinions on it go 50/50 from what I have seen in the reviews.
The Window is a mystery thriller about a set of twins, but one of them dies and it is marked as a tragic accident. The thing is, Jess (the living twin), thinks otherwise. She proceeds to try to find out how her sister perished, but the more she digs into her death she finds out that she didn't know her sister at all. I found it to be a lot more sad than scary, and it digs into some teen issues. It does have topics of SA, Pedophilia, drug use, and possibly more from what I remember. It's been two years since I read it.

But yeah, I definitely recommend.  When I finished it I had a hollow and sad feeling left in my chest (:
(That could be a bad thing or a good thing, depends on how you want to feel when reading).

I have to say that The Poppy War series by R.F. Kuang is getting me out of a serious slump at the moment. It is a young adult/new adult fiction. I loved having such a morally ambiguous ambitious main character who didn't apologize for how ruthless she had to be to get what she wanted. This book does deal with some pretty heavy topics, so make sure to look up the trigger warnings!

"The Poppy War is the story of passionate yet ruthless Fang Runin, also known as Rin, who grows up poor, orphaned by a previous war. But she studies and gets into an elite military academy, and develops a gift for shamanism that lets her call upon the fire powers of a vengeful Phoenix god." - taken from an NPR article about the book.

If you really like sci fi then I'd start with Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy and then see how you like Andy Weir

They both die at the end is popular again but I haven't read it since it first came out so it's a solid maybe for me

I was lucky enough to read two very interesting books. Russia in Crooked Mirrors by Nikolai and Levashov and Between Life and Death by Dolores Cannon. In the first one an interesting version of the appearance of man on earth. And the second as if complementary to the first. I recommend it.

There's two books I've been reading:

The Cobra Event, & Slasher Girls & Monster Boys, both horror/thriller.

The Cobra Event is about an account of an extremely deadly & violent virus created as a bioweapon. It's up to three key characters to find out the source of the virus.
(I haven't finished the book yet, but I was hooked on the narrative.)

Slasher Girls & Monster Boys is an anthology of stories from handpicked horror/thriller authors. There's a little bit of everything in there, from supernatural to things a bit close to home.

I'm big into space fantasy so if that's your thing then I'd recommend Memory Called Empire (scifi) + Darkness Outside Us (more existential romance). Other books:

- We Were Liars
- In Deeper Waters
- Never Let Me Go
- The Grace Year
- Wolf by Wolf

Kind of a jumble of genres and a few are darker, but I enjoyed all of those.

Godless by Pete Hautman

Frustrated with his parents' Catholic religion, agnostic-going-on-atheist Jason Bock invents a new god—the water tower. He recruits an unlikely group of worshippers, including: his snail farming best friend, Shin; incredibly ordinary Dan Grant; cute-as-a-button Magda Price; and violent, unpredictable Henry Stagg. As the Chutengodian religion grows, it takes on a life of its own. While Jason struggles to keep the faith pure, Shin obsesses over writing their bible as Henry schemes to make the faith even more exciting—and dangerous. As a result, when the Chutengodians hold their first mass atop the dome of the water tower, things go from dangerous to deadly.

(book sparked religious controversy so don't read if you care abt that)

ROMANCE any yound adult book that has romance in it

Stuff like
-red white and royal blue
-kiss my cupcake
-normal people (can be triggering so be careful)
-aristotle and dante discover the secretes of the univers

All of these are great. The first 3 do describe quite sexual interactions in pretty strong detal. And normal people does have a lot of Triggering topics in it. I have found myself trigger by it a few times while im reading it. But, I just take a break a continue reading once im in a better headspace

I think it's a hit or miss because I've heard of people who love it but also people who got bored of it very easily but I recommend girl in pieces! It can be triggering because it has s3lf harm, d3pr3ssion, s3xual and physical abuse, r4pe, vi0lence, alc0h0lism, dr_g use and su1c1de but it is really good and sad!
