Congratulations to Timor-Leste on becoming the 11th member of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 26 October, 2025. Welcome to the family!
After 14 years since it applied for membership in 2011, now Timor-Leste is finally admitted to ASEAN. Of course, this is happy news and a pride, not only for Timor-Leste but also for the whole of ASEAN, including me.
Hopefully, by joining ASEAN, Timor-Leste will be more advanced in the future, especially with access to the ASEAN market. I'm so happy with this. All the best to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. 🇹🇱🇹🇱🇹🇱
