mastering lucid dreaming

hey guys, im really into lucid dreaming and for a while I felt like I was getting the hang of it.

but lately, its been challenging to become and remain lucid in a dream. and since I know just how amazing it is, its been disappointing to say the least that it hasn't happened in a while.

do any of you have good tips and tricks that really help you become lucid in your dreams? reality checks do help but what else works?

I miss uncovering truths in my subconscious and flying around the world!

I've noticed that when I get woken up in the middle of the night/early in the morning and fall back asleep, that's when I tend to lucid dream the most.

Sometimes as a fall asleep at night, I can sort of feel myself drifting into a dreamlike state, though I have yet to ever experience total control/awareness.

A tip I've read (though I myself have yet to consistently practice) is to try to poke the palm of your hand throughout the day. In your dream state when you try to do the same, the finger you poke with is supposed to just phase through your palm. That's how you'll be able to tell yourself that your dreaming then. From there, you can practice taking control.

Hope that makes sense ^^; Good luck on your lucid journey

If you want to get into this and have the confidence you deserve, you need to know how lucid you really feel. I have been doing this for about 2 months and I've been lucid for about 5 days. It's really difficult. It feels like a nightmare to be lucid, it really does. I'm really scared of it and I don't know how to cope and I feel I need help to cope and to keep myself from going mad at myself.

So here I go:

1) A lot has happened in a day. I'm now at about 5 hours and 20 minutes of sleep, I'm in a dream state, I've been dreaming for 2 days, my mind has become so clear and lucid, my brain is really lucid I'm able to feel it and I can feel it and I can't feel my brain. It's a very strange and scary experience and you just feel the same way as if someone were in an old hospital or in an old house, and then suddenly it's completely clear that you are lucid, that it is a real dream.

2) I have a feeling I am getting closer to a lucid state. It feels like a very strong, powerful feeling and you can tell that it's very intense and intense because you're really looking for something that's there and it feels so good to be in a dream state and not have any worries. I have no fear of the thing and it feels very good, it's really good, and it really is a very nice feeling, and it's not something that you would want to experience. I don't know how you could get a feeling like that. It just makes me so excited. I think that the thing about this experience is that there's no way you would want this thing to feel so good.

3) It's really scary to think that something is going on and I'm going to have a hard time keeping it in my head. I don't want it to be real, it

Start slow. My motto is "You gotta walk before you fly".  That moment when it hits you that your in a lucid dream it can be quite intense and hard to stay in. When I first started out I used to try and focus on just putting one foot in front of the other. Once you start walking you'll quickly progress to running and then maybe even flying if your good ;)

The one thing that really helped me get better at lucid dreaming was
keeping a dream journal for about a month. It really helps strengthen
your dream recollection.  As soon as you wake up write your dream down,
even if you can't remember it well.  You can keep it simple. 2 or 3
sentences about what happened in the dream. Another sentence or two
about why you think you dreamt it, and finally write about what you
think it means to you. It kinda gets your more in tune with your dream
self and with what makes you tick. It was around 2008 when I kept a dream
journal for about a month or two and that was all I needed. I've been
having lucid dreams regularly(at least 1 or 2 every other week) ever
since then.

When your first starting out it's best to focus on lucid dreaming when you take naps during the day and right after you wake up and fall back to sleep in the mornings. The mind is bit more activated and aware at these times compared to when you are in full on REM sleep.

I could go on forever about this but I'll just end it here. Hope this helps!
