Religion

Hello, I'm new here to SpaceHey and I find the site to be more on the open minded or neutral side of the Internet (I hope so, attack me if you want to but hey we can agree to disagree) I was wondering what was everyone thoughts on Religions around Death. Me personally I'm a Santa Muerte Devotee, I've prayed to her since I was 16-17 years old. I like to believe I'm the only one amongst my family that venerates to her, although I'm not quite sure if I'm 100% the only one. (My family is big on venerating the Virgin Mary, St Jude, etc)

But I would like to know everyone else's beliefs and opinions on things of that nature rather you believe in it or not. Does not have to be a topic related on my beliefs, religion, or veneration, I want to hear yours.

i am mostly atheist but one thing i cannot wrap my head around is death.

death to me seems really absurd, like why does a thing go away forever? to me that just doesn't make sense, if nothing is forever like many people seem to notice, then why can't death behave the same way?

and that's when i began formulating a thought about the afterlife, that involves around some kind of "energy" (it might sound ridiculous from here on out) i believe every person changes something within their lives, even if that something is extremelly small, like dying and serving as nutrition for bacteria or small insects, pieces of your "energy" or your "influence" will always live in the world, because they serve as a way to make other people or things act differently, that influence or energy, is you. and that aspect of you, will never die, it may eventually come back around. it may eventually go somewhere you've never even thought of before, but that piece of energy that you passed on will always be you.

sorry if this sounds ridiculous it's just a little thought i have fun in dwelling on, thx for listening.

No not ridiculous at all! Any ideology is acceptable to me. Death can be very confusing, and that's perfectly okay. I believe we live on in our offspring. Our physical body may have died but since we have children we technically never died completely because they have a piece of our DNA. Basically technically living a different life, as a different individual with a different body. I like your idea of becoming things like bacteria, maybe even fungi.

I'm not really a religious person (I've not gone to religion class in like 10 years:) but I do pray a surprising amount of times. I've always loved talking to myself and kind of just the air around, appreciating nature and the universe. there's gotta be something out there that's listening to me yk, something in the way the wind ruffles the leafs, the way it starts raining after a particulay difficult day, the way the moonlight hits my walls with not-so-carefully attached posters. quiet comfortness<3 and also to combat all of that I've had a dragon altar (for a few years) and some dreams and spells connected to it. my cats sort of kept jumping around on it and time's passed, the layout of my room's been changed. might have to redo it grand and clean!! the universe sure is fascinating
