The US military is in no shape to fight a serious war. I'd rate us as just barely better than Russia in terms of morale and legitimacy. If and when we really try to attack Venezuela, it will be the end of our empire as we know it.
It's more of a tragedy than it is a problem, really. All that discipline and abuse at Parris Island, Fort Bragg, Fort Benning, etc. for nothing.
