I've never posted a forum b4; I don't even know if this is the purpose of one but has anyone watched The Hollow on Netflix. Short synopsis, three teens wake up in a white room w/ no memory of who they are or how they ended up in this situation. What they do know is that they have to work together to escape. There's so much more but no spoilers.
Anyway, I just have this one question: "who do you guys feel about the ending in season 2?"
b4 I give my opinion, I just want to say that I loved the show and especially the characters (Weirdy's my favorite I wish we got to see more of him). I still watch the show in my free time and like to write fanfiction of the character (that I will never be posting, you could not force them out of me).
It's pretty obvious but I didn't like the ending. It felt almost disturbing--or like "there is no war in Ba Sing-Se." In the end their all celebrating their new digital lives but the whole time I was like: This isn't real, you guys aren't real! These aren't your parents and your trapped her for eternity! Not to mention Skeet's "dead." I think I would have felt a little bit better about the ending if they didn't establish that the world that they are stuck in is only limited to their memories. What I mean by that is that in the first episode, Adam wasn't able to read the rest of his Moby Dick book b/c in the real world he never got past the first page. If this goes towards a simple children's book, then that applies to everything else right? They can never learn anything outside of their knowledge or develop. It is forever just a still image of when they first left and b/c they're server is disconnected they probably can't contact the outside world for help.
The ending could literally be used as a plot for a horror movie and yet they're taking cheers for their new life. SKEET's DEAD!!! but I do blv that this was purposeful for a setup of a season 3 that we will unfortunately never get, but it still felt creepy and unresolved.
I'll prob add more to this later but for now, thats all I have to say
