Basic necessities should be accessible to everyone for free.

Government dough rots the soul - that's why the thugs and criminals in every ghetto are on food stamps and my neighbors (none of them have felonies or past convictions) in the trailers next to me aren't. All that being said though, I'll bite. I'm down to support free shit for people with no felonies, maybe a limited number of misdemeanors (three strikes, you're out), who still try to work when they can (monitor if they file taxes or not, if they don't and aren't disabled the program cuts off). I think that's a reasonable addendum to the universal necessities and "hunger insurance".

i totally get where youre coming from and i wish it was this simple, i do economics in college (british high school) so i have some knowledge on this. 

the problem is raising taxes on the rich, where taxes for higher income brackets are high (usually western countries), causes a decrease in government tax revenue, this is because very rich people like business owners will just move away and go live in a tax haven like the uae or certain microstates and then their tax money goes completely. there is a diagram which shows this called the laffer curve if you are interested.

as much as this would be a great solution in theory to the problem of people not being able to afford needs, taxing the rich like that just doesnt work unfortunately

People should learn to provide for themselves instead, and the government should actively encourage and protect the liberties of communities to provide and create for themselves instead of the fascist and commie bullshit we have today.
