i've had nightmares nightly since i was little with it getting chronic around 4 years old before any trauma or drama that i can remember started for me but my earliest memory of me having a nightmare was around 2 or 3 years old. i rarely have a good dream and found some songs can lessen the intensity of nightmares and other songs can worsen them. sometimes i get scared to fall asleep because of how bad they get and because there have been times where i was lucid dreaming and felt trapped in the dream which was hell. theyre typically very gorey, bloody, and overall just downright violent or creepy. im sure my obsession with horror hasnt helped any but even before that or when i left the horror fandom for a while, the nightmares didnt stop. im thinking its Parasomnia but i dont want to self diagnose and dont exactly know what to do to help myself out.
