Ghosts and Spirits!: Do you believe? Do you have stories?

I don't think much about the exsistence of ghosts, but I don't like the idea that they are here on unfinished buisness. To me Ghosts are the remaining piece of someone's perception. The remaining will to experience more. Now to talk about experience. I wouldn't really call it supernatural, but there's this old abbandoned house near where I live that I keep thinking about. Its right next to a WWII cemetery but it feels like it's older. I doesn't have a roof anymore and the insides are completly full of weeds and throns. On one wall it has two wall paintings, one I can't make up what it is, while the other is a rising sun. it isn't particularly creepy, but it has a weird effect on me, like most of the time, when I think about it, it's like I'm drawn to it. I've been there 2 times already and found nothing more to check out, but somehow I want to go there again. Someday I'd like to write a short horror story about it. Honestly, I don't quite know where I stand as far as ghosts go. I believe in spirits and otherworldly beings, and I even have a ghost tattoo because I love the paranormal so much!

But ghosts are tricky to me. I believe everyone and everything (including landformations, water, inanimate objects, etc..) have some kind of essence/energy that remains after the body/form is destroyed or otherwise inhospitable. However, I have a hard time believing that they just continue going about the same routine here on Earth. I feel like many ghost sightings/experiences are simply residual energy. Or maybe they're even a time-loop or a glimpse into another reality.

I've never had a ghost experience (not that I can remember anyhow). I have had encounters with other kinds of entities though, but that's a whole other discussion, lol

HEYA FELLOW CANUCK - My family lives in a decently old house, and I've had a couple weird or generally creepy experiences. My most recent that I can talk about was about a year ago last year, oddly warm and humid night in april, I woke up around 3am. I don't have it anymore since I've renovated for uni, but I used to have this loft bed that my dad built for me and my sister when we shared a room. Hadn't gotten around to taking it down yet at this time. Anyways.... I thought I woke up because I was super hot and had to take off my covers. When my house gets humid, it feels more stuffy, more "filled up" if you will. The room felt more filled up... which I thought was the heat. But maybe like 15 minutes after I woke up, I heard a sound from my childhood that scared the JESUS outa me. When my parents would tuck me in as a little kid, they'd usually grab the wooden beam that was like a little edge that held my bed in. I heard the distinct sound of someone grabbing the beam right beside my head and i was petrified. When I finally turned the lights on and looked around and underneath, no one there. Window was closed, my door was locked. Weird shit.
