Do you believe in intuition?

Intuition, instinct, gut feeling, psychic abilities whatever you want to call it. Do you believe humans have the ability to get some foresight of the future and plan accordingly?

Some people talk about having psychic dreams and seeing the future, or glimpses, or hints of what’ll happen. Others just “have a gut feeling” that maybe we should change our route or drive slower

If you do believe in intuition, where do you think it comes from? Is it a sixth sense that senses the future? Maybe it’s anxiety that just so happened to be right this once? Is it a spiritual hint from your guardian angel?

I’d love to know what other people think of the human intuition.

I think that most of the time, the simplest answer is usually the truth. Billions of people think about the future every day, so it’s understandable that, statistically, many of them end up predicting very specific things correctly.

At the same time, life would be pretty boring that way, so I like to believe there’s something more. But if that’s the case, I don’t think these things happen because of some conscious force like a guardian angel. I prefer to see it as an energy that flows with life itself, and sometimes, certain people are just more sensitive to it and catch glimpses of where the current is headed.

Long story short I think it is and in another words its pretty much the "flight, freeze and fight" response. I always follow and trust my gut feeling.

I've had quite a few spooky moments where I've had real bad deja vu or predicted/dreamed future events sometimes years in advance but I've also dreamed so many things that never came to fruition.

I'd like to think humans have some kind of sixth sense, I'll always be subconsciously holding out hope that there's some sort of magic that humans have that lets these spooky coincidences occur but the logical part of my brain knows that I've done a lot of things and I'll do a lot of things in the future which may happen to activate a memory of me predicting it years ago like kinda bruteforcing premonitions.

I'm torn between logic and childlike hopefulness lol, it would be nice if there was more to life than just logic

Honestly, yes.

I've always felt like my intuition guides me to make the correct choices. Normally I'll figure out through a friend that if I didn't make the choice I did, something negative would've happened.

That's just my opinion though.

I believe in intuition (and other gifts) specifically because I have some, and I kind of hate it. Let's be real, it can be useful to know just not to go somewhere or do a thing.  But when yours is strong enough to feel someone that you don't know die that you correctly identify as a "death feeling" that just happens to be one of your friends' BEST FRIENDS it gets very old... very fast.

Because I have the "nicer" version which is just kind of knowing what people I know are feeling from another room or across the country, and being able to say hey when I know they're down, when I felt death come for someone I freaked out and messaged everyone. EVERYONE in my social circles. Nobody knew and I thought I was wrong.  but one of my friends messaged me later absolutely shattered with the news that I was NOT wrong.

Being correct about that shit pisses me off cuz what can I do?  what could I have done. If even I did know something was going to go down, how was I going to get halfway across the country in time?

I think they are undoubtedly real, all of them. Though, I think many different "kinds of intuition" get mixed up, that aren't the same thing.

Intuition is kind of a vague word as a result of the fact that it has so many different meanings, meanings which at times aren't even closely related.

But from gut-feeling intuition, to Bergsonian intuition, to "psi ability" intuition, I think they are all real, just different.
