i think its childish to only support democracy only when its the party you like and whinge about the population being idiots

but i do worry for what the public are voting for, do they not even know how much of a pointless culture war it is instead of actually improving the country in any tangible meaningful way

i love democracy but perhaps we should have a basic test on how politics in your country work before youre allowed to vote, as unbiased questions as possible that arent opinions and are fact ideally. because if you look at the data (from yougov specifically) youll see that it tends to be the less educated that vote for parties such as republican and reform UK

hopefully im not alone in despising right wing populism with the likes of farage and trump

i wont get too in detail since its probably not appropiate for here but if you know what trump has done to e jean carroll then youd also question why the public are voting for such a morally corrupt man

i truly hope they are just unaware of this instead of ignoring it as some "woke commie propaganda"

Also, 1. we don't live in a "democracy," we live in a constitutional republic and 2. if you seriously think corruption among politicians is a new thing you don't know what democracy is. Democracy brings about indolent, corrupt people, politcalizes common life (leading to people having to act like politicians to get jobs,) and brings about imperialism and ideological wars. We only need to look at the domino effect of WW1 to see the effect of "democracy" that morons like Woodrow Wilson imposed onto the world. The most ideal form of a monarchy is preferable to "democracy" in many ways; democracy is a regression, not a step forward. Democratic politicians do not win by means of reason or logic; they thrive on the existence of social problems and social strife. Why should I support a system that does this?

Giovanni Gentile called the fascist state a "democratic state par excallance" for a reason.

if we give people tests before they vote, then a looot of people won't end up voting. we need to educate on civics, politics, and government in school. and my idea is that we should give voters a list of each candidate's policies at the polls before voting. don't know how it would work yet though :] even if some people still pick their party no matter what, it would surely help a lot of other people understand what politicians' intentions are
