Seeing how the internet has been abused recently by worldwide superpowers I am growing worrisome over the future of the internet. I love the internet, its been around for the majority of my life. It's been an escape for me throughout my life; for better or worse. I've been a banal asshole on here but I've also grown and changed on here, getting to experience beautiful art from around the globe and connecting with people that I would have never had the chance to otherwise.
Earlier today, Tiktok was "Banned" for around 12 hours in the US. It is abundantly clear to me that this was a political PSYOP to garner greater support for President Trump. In 2020, Donald Trump was the first to advocate for a Tiktok ban, but now he is framing it as censorship of the Biden Administration as another attempt in the long series of his career to make himself seem like "The Voice of The People".
Republican Congressman Micheal McCaul introduced a package of bills which included banning the services of various Chinese companies from the US. One of these companies was ByteDance; the owner of Tiktok. McCaul and his family's firm invested $1.15 Billion into Meta; an American Social Media Monopoly run by Mark Zuckerberg, who is another behind the emblem of MAGA, now what do they own?
Well, they own:
Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, Threads, Oculus (VR Company)
Among others they own an Israeli Mobile App named: Onavo (Keep this In Mind!)
Another ceasefire was called for in Gaza yesterday. There have been a long series of ceasefire callings over the past 15 months, many were false fabrications for news publications as the American Government funded Israel while financially abusing the people at home and turning a blind eye to the genocide they funded and allowed to continue. The longest ceasefire thus was took place on Novemebr 21, 2023: lasting for four days and continuing after Israel saw their demands not being met. Now we see one where the hundreds Prisoners of War held by the Israeli military and the few held captive in Gaza have been released and returned to their families. Donald Trump has been seen working on relations with Benjamin Netanyahu, manically and infrequently expressing a strong friendship, and conveniently switching to an anger on behalf of the Palestinian people as his Son-In-Law admitted that "Gaza's waterfront property could be very valuable".
Tiktok is a very valuable asset, the term brainrot while ironic is incredibly important to the future of our world and our concerns. On Tiktok peoples minds are vulnerable and easy to mold. Peole are easily moved emotionally and thus; ragebait makes the world go 'round and people can become divided by gender, sex, sexual orientation, and pretty much any personal beliefs as we saw multiple far-right masculinity grifters groom young men such as Andrew Tate (Who is also running for Prime Minister of England currently under the BRUV party... ion even wanna go there.) Benjamin Netanyahu, Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and the heritage organization all fall under this far-right spectrum. They utilize the internet to prey on the young who are being increasingly exposed to the internet from young ages; making them ripe for the harvest with brains mushy enough to mold, let sit, and dry into its final form prematurely. (Especially) Young men are indoctrinated into wars within themselves to become slaves to masters they don't know, to hate people they haven't truly met, for reasons they don't understand.
The internet is becoming a privatized prison from which we will all become enslaved too. And if that doesn't happen; everything we do will become heavily monitored; look at how ID implementations have been implemented across various websites (and yes, the controversial P-sites. Idk If I can mention those here). In 2010, the Citizens United FEC made it fully legal for politicians to receive unlimited funding from corporations. And we are now witnessing this in full swing. The Enabling Act of 2025 along with Project 2025 are looming closer. They control every aspect of our lives in America, along with international power and influence, and are now coming for the bastion of freedom and expression that the Internet should be, and holding it hostage. It is bedtime for democracy, and America has welcomed it with guns blazing and flags waving. Wars, Social Media, and Artificial Intelligence have all become tools to abuse the freedoms of the people. And we never try, we never get better, we are miserable and desperate and foolish and self-conscious but drained of the self motivation required to take action by addiction and the endless rabbit-hole of anger that has become the internet.
