I recently saw The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and it was really good! It's also a slice of life created by Kyoto Animation and is referenced a lot in Lucky Star, so I would recommend if you like Lucky Star.

Another recommendation is Baccano. It's only 12 episodes or something, but it's really cool! The show is sort of all over the place, but kind of falls into place after a few episodes. The editing is also insane and the vibe reminds me of Oceans Eleven.

Kaiji is one of my personal favorite animes and it's a shame more people haven't seen it. It's a gambling anime with high stakes. Every episode makes me want to rip my hair out. If you don't like stressful animes, it probably isn't for you.

You should check out K-ON, it's a light hearted show about a group of girls who start a light music club and band :).

Somebody already mentioned Haruhi and I'd also recommend that one. You should look into what order you're going to watch it in (the original broadcast one or Chronological one). From what I know most people recommend the og broadcast one first (which is only season 1) and the chronological one second(which is both season 1 and 2), but its really up to you.

I'm not a big anime fan but I'll take every chance I get to recommend Azumanga Daioh.

Trying to describe it is pretty hard, it's a slice of life comedy at its core and that's really all there is to it, but that's not a bad thing.

What I can tell you is that it's less "Seinfeldian" than Lucky Star, and focuses on character-eccentric humor.

Overall if you think it looks interesting, I highly recommend you watch it.
