BL anime/manga recommendations?

Hi all, I'm looking for new BL to watch or read. I'm fine with explicit content, but please don't recommend series with extremes like incest, very large age gap, excused abuse, etc.

My personal recommendation is Cherry Magic. I've only seen the anime of it, but it was a very sweet and intriguing love story. It's about an office worker who gains the ability to read people's thoughts when he touches them, and then discovers his handsome and popular coworker has a crush on him (p≧w≦q) (That happens in the first episode, so it's not spoilers, I promise!!). If you are looking for a cute office romance, then I think it'd be great for you.

I'm also reading Love Stage! right now. It's quite good, I really love the art style. It has some not-so-great moments in it, but when it has something heavy happen it at least tries to address it, which I found to be good.

honestly, i'm a huge toxic yaoi lover so I can't really reccomend anything too dearly but i've seen people recc'ing Harukaze no Étranger, Sign (manhwa) and Given (tw for sa themes, very respectful and not romanticized at all as i've heard) as light hearted/soft yaoi and stuff

as for something I actually consumed I can only rec Yuri on Ice and Blood Bank* (manhwa)

*(I haven't re-read it in quite a while, so I can't really atone for anything you mentioned as bad because I have bad memory! it has a large age gap since its vampire x human stuff, if that alone makes you uncomfy no prob obv)

i'd recc giving this list a go, and going over the reccomendations on the mangas/animes you like to find similar stuff (the site has some user reccomendations based on what you're seeing)

Thank you for the recs, I've heard a lot about Given so I think I'll have to check it out!! And the vampire one sounds cool too :D And thank you for the heads up, since it's a supernatural thing the ages don't bother me, I just don't really love when its like... a grown man and a teenage boy ya know xP

let me just dump my favs rq lol. i mostly read bl manga since i've seen a good chunk of the decent bl anime.

my all time fav is go for it! nakamura!! it's a silly slice of life manga where a closeted gay high schooler tries to navigate his crush on a classmate. i reread it all the time. the second volume is admittedly not as good but i love it anyway

some others i recommend are until i meet my husband (based on the life of an actual gay activist, very touching), kimi wa natsu no naka (high school setting featuring close friends), fukou-kun was kiss suru shika nai! (unlucky guy tries to get with lucky guy to balance out his luck. this one also has a really good drama adaptation), it can't be mutual love!! (friends since high school now in their forties and it turns out one of them has had a crush on the other for over twenty years), iki dekinai no wa kimi no sei (two guys in an orchestra become friends with benefits and from there start dating), and sonokoi jihanki de kaemasuka? (office worker gets a love at first sight crush on a vending machine handler)

the One anime rec i will give is gakuen handsome. not because it's good but because it's super funny (which loops back around making it good). there's like ten episodes that are like three minutes long. highly recommend the series just speaks for itself.

watch/read no.6 it's one of my favs. it's a dystopia type thing so there is violence and there's a few mentions of the underage characters being put into icky situations but it's never in detail and it's handled pretty alright

unfortunately (if you have issues with that) you WILL have to pirate it, cause even at it's peak in like 2011 it was only kinda popular so crunchyroll simply just can't be assed to pay for the rights to host it. But it's only like 11 episodes and the manga is apparently only 30 something chapters so you won't have to deal with pirating website ads for too long

also also if you decide to watch over read i should mention that the anime is pretty true to the manga but the outwardly gay scenes are really toned down when compared to the manga (like in the first episode when the 2 mcs meet in the manga they fall asleep cuddling when in the anime they're just barely holding hands). It's not much of an issue for me but i should probs mention it just in case

This is getting really long but i do also want to mention that before it was even a manga it was a light novel (which from what i heard is even MORE homoerotic) unfortunately i haven't read it yet cause i can not for the life of me find a translated version. but if you can find one i heard it's good

quick edit because i can't believe i forgot to mention it, but PLEASE read misaki kun is unobtainable, it's a silly story about a best friend character in a visual novel trying to help the mc get with one of the love interests, but he's like really cute so the main character is only after him despite the fact that the world they're in won't let him do so. it's so cute and fun i totally suggest you read it (please read it the only post i could find ab it online was a fucking tweet from a femboy of the day account)
