US compared to other countries

Everytime I read or watch posts about schools around the world, they fascinate me but, how comes the US is so different compared to countries like France or Japan? Like here in the states we have proms, dances, cheerleading, etc. but other countries don't? plus whats with all schools in foreign countries always wearing uniforms and/or have strict dresscode regardless of the school being public or not? I've just never understood that honestly, I know Japan got clubs and other school activities that students can enjoy but besides that does any country have I dunno, fun like the US? sorry if this post comes off of as ignorant or bad, I'm just curious.

That’s a very valid question, and it all comes down to culture. While places may not have prom, there’s other dances and formal events that happen. In the end, everyone world wide gets their share of fun and activities, although they may not be what we are used to

While I’m not an expert in schools outside the US, other countries definitely have fun school stuff :o For example, school festivals seem to be a common thing in Japan and students prepare for them just like how American students would prepare for something like prom. Clubs are also present in a lot of countries’ schools and I’m gonna assume they’re just like American schools when it comes to their variety (AKA bigger schools may have more niche clubs while smaller schools have the “standard” ones). I know specifically Nigerian schools have proms too, which is why Nigerian prom dresses/fashion are a thing, and I’m sure other parts of Africa are probably similar idk

As for the uniform question, I honestly think a country’s reason is likely similar to why some American schools have uniforms :P it could be a lot of things but uniformity among students, reputation, and financial reasons might be the more main reasons

As a student in Turkey, lemme say sum facts about turkish schools and my experiences! so you can compare those

First, theres so many bullies (especially in middle school). also the education system is not the best here. a lot of unnecessary stress is waiting for you! Also high school is more harder than it is supposed to be. if you fail 3 classes you can not pass the grade (in the new system. but luckily im 11th grader and it doesnt affects me)

Second, the bathroom STINKS. like STINKS STINKS. no toilet papers, no flush, toilets are dirty AF, it smells like SHIT. take a shit there if you dare..

Third, depends on school but we do have festivals! like music, sport ect. also since theres a lot place to visit in Istanbul, they take us there places!

Fourth, compared to the first fact, a lot of children skips school, vapes, takes drugs ect. also because of stress so many students kills themselves ( rest in peace :( ) so many unnecessary test that affects our future for no reason, president once called students terrorists, goverment doesnt cares about in general and most of the teachers are literal psychopaths

Fifth, uniforms are neccesary (in most of the schools), no cheerleading, no proms, no school football team.

thats all i can list for now! i can answer any question you ask!

It's funny, the Thai school is very similar to the Russian school

In many schools, since they are not in the central regions, the toilets are terrible, and even in our fairly good gymnasium, a living hell is going on in the men's toilet.

School uniforms are compulsory, it's cold in Siberia, but in one of the schools there, girls are not allowed to wear trousers because they are required to wear skirts! but they are much colder than trousers (

I like my gymnasium, but even here some teachers go too far in communicating with students. Our director during the discussion of "A Hero of Our Time" shit LGBTQ+, said that we should fail if we are not going to pass the final exam with 80+ points and just terribly lead literature (

For anything, the gymnasium is not a gym, school, the translator is stupid
