Ive been a witch for most of my life without realizing it tbh... I grew up in the church but I would use folk magic and curses/blessings in my day to day that I didn't realize would make the foundations of a practice. Because of health reasons Im not super involved other than a few spells or divination but Im doing a lot of ancestor work and dipping my toes into different areas.

I've had a few leaps here & there but I am back at the beginning in my craft. I have some past life work to confront that sorta holds me back from rlly diving into things. I like herbs, crystals, divination, meditation, mythology. I'm not advanced in much, just working on simple things rn and trying to find myself comfortably within my craft and spiritualism. feel free to add me, witches!! I'd love to be friends & share experiences n whatnot!! I've found a lovely spiritual community in my town I'm rlly happy about it !!! fav crystals is probably blue aragonite, moss agate maybe ?? rhodonite <3 so pretty

hello!!! I'm an eclectic pagan witch and I've been practicing for almost two years now! My favorite magical ingredient is cinnamon. Orange calcite is my favorite crystal. My favorite spell isn't a single spell but really a genre-- I think luck spells are the best! The deity I subscribe to is Helios 💞🌻✨

I've been a witch by choice since I was about six... I am now 30... I learned and grew and now I'm a reverend -- still a witch, though!
Magick is all about sacred geometry, intent, and sheer will. Careful about fake "spells" online... the best spells are invented by the spell caster. :) Much like prayer!
And remember: NO RELIGION is necessary to be a witch, and it's okay to be a witch while practicing a religion. Do not let measly mortal meat bags tell you what you can and cannot have faith in.
Enjoy!
My faves:
Stone: Amethyst
Herb: Basil/Marijuana
Favorite Rune: Strength, Partnership, Joy
Uhmmmm anything else, feel free to ask!

I still count myself as a newer witch (I've been practicing for about 2-3 years?) for a beginner, I would say a few points:
1. STAY AWAY FROM CURSES OR HARMFUL SPELLS. You are still a new witch so should not immediately dive into aggressive or dangerous spells. For me, learning witchcraft was about experiencing all the possibilities of charms and so on. At the start, stick to simple protection and cleansing spells and once you have the capability and honestly, responsibility, you can move on to more advanced spells and charms.
2. Be kind to your community! We all want to help you as much as possible so try not to be arsey and act like you know more than you do. Although, saying that, ask for help if you are ever struggling or need help about anything like understanding how something works or if you have the right things needed.
3. Witchcraft is expensive! I have spent well over £200 alone on herbs, tarot cards, crystals, bottles etc. so I would buy the essentials first and then once you think you can afford more or actually need more, then buy more materials. You shouldn't have to go bankrupt because you want everything at once. :)
4. Buy your materials from a real, trustworthy witch or source! I made the mistake at the start from buying cheap herbs and crystals from amazon and they were awful quality and did not serve the purpose intended in the first place, so buy your materials from somewhere reliable! Personally, I like supporting smaller witches or places that are selling to help them!
5. Have fun with it! Witchcraft is meant to let you be yourself and embrace who you are as a spell caster, tarot reader or whatever you choose! Don't think that you have to rush into everything and cast every spell immediately just because other people have accomplished lots. Go at your own pace and witchcraft may well mean something completely different to me, or to anyone!

Hi to everyone else in this forum!
I do practice
witchcraft, and have for seven years now. I don't go by a label (I am
not wiccan). If I were to describe my practice, I guess a mix of british
and colonial tradcraft, folk witchery, appalachian practices,
demonolatry, and a bit of everything I can morally practice and study.
I want to answer the specific questions OP asked, so... herb, crystal, and spell. Not plural I guess (but I will be answering with multiple things).
As for herb, right now damiana and mandrake, but usually garden sage. Sometimes lavender, but I prefer it more as a thing to display rather than use, but it is pretty useful. I've formed a solid bond with a crowd of french lavender plants in my local area.
Now, regarding crystals... a favorite is a bit hard. I am generally into geology outside of spiritual circles so I have some uncommon faves, so I'll stick to the popular ones. Black tourmaline for sure. While I love more interesting ones like bloodstone, or any crystal with quartz inclusions, classic tourmaline is fantastic. Obsidian is also gorgeous.
Spell. Any curse/baneful working if I'm being honest, because I can get a little more traditional. But let me actually go for something more practical to share. Kitchen witchcraft. Food spells. Literally fantastic, especially considering I studied the culinary arts so I'm a nerd about this stuff. My favorite "spell" is probably bread and dipping oils, as you can carve sigils into bread and work herbal correspondences into dipping oils. And it just tastes really good.
That's all OP technically asked about, so I will end my very excessive ramblings here, but feel free to PM me if y'all want to chat a bit more!

ive been practicing for most of my life. i grew up around witches, including my immediate family. i used to be very invested in having the "tools" for everything, but now i do more energy working than anything! i use a lot of sigils and make my own occasionally, but i also work with gems and tarot a lot! and if im doing anything bigger, i usually default to spell jars... i just like jars, might as well put em to use.

I reallyyyyyyy love Citrine and Opalite. Citrines is just such a feel-good crystal for me and Opalite is man-made, but it's so so soooooooooo pretty. Like the way light shines through it is just breathtaking. Although I love all crystals / gemstones / and rocks :)

I've been practicing witchcraft for a while now, maybe 2-3 years now-ish? But my favorite herb either has to be clove or basil leaves. As for crystals, my favorites are green aventurine, obsidian, unakite, and sodalite :) I love working with my tarot card decks and performing attraction or love/self-love spells.

Hi there! I've been a solo practitioner for almost 10 years.
Fave herb is the tried and true bay leaf (also for fave spice it's gotta be cinnamon). Crystal is probably amethyst or clear quartz they are very versatile. I also keep a obsidian at my bedside and tigers eye on hand all the time. A simple candle spell to set the intention for the day is a favorite. Or enchanting my morning tea.

Just another Witch here. 53 now, been one one path or another since I was 17. So yeah, LOTS of practical experience behind me. :)
I currently work with my Ancestral Spirits and Others that were previously human, not as much with Deity. I've found most of my Deities to be pretty chill. But Ive got a LOT of them, and a lot of variety there too, although the latest to join me has demonstrated that most of them are involved with the Dead in some way or another, so I guess that makes a lot of sense now.
I was in the process of starting a blog over on Wordpress, but since discovering this I'm thinking about doing it here instead!
My absolute favorite stone/crystal is Selenite because it LOVES me. When there's a nice chunk of it in my hand, I've been known to go into giggle fits. For protection and something mellower, I prefer tourmaline, generally black tourmaline. Or obsidian. MMMmmmm, Obsidian...lol
My favorite divination method is pendulum, and I'm addicted to them so I have a collection now of 10 and there's no end to that in sight. My favorite Tarot deck is the Robyn Wood. I'm definitely a Spirit Worker, but I like to get my hands dirty with my own Spellwork as often as I can.
I'm more than happy to find new friends of all ages, and more than happy to answer any question anyone has. If I don't know it myself, there's a 99% chance I know someone who does!

i dont do rituals as much as i used to but i still super love crystals, manifestation and tarot cards!! so maybe witchcraft isnt really my label, i feel more comfortable with "spiritual". you might be more experienced by the time you read this, but never feel pressured by other witches that one material is "better" or "necessary". everything depends on your intention so remember how you feel about items and use your intuition. i only buy crystals that i'm drawn to, not that i "need," because really all you need is that intention.
