i think the best show ive been to was around a year ago when i saw frankie cosmos, it's one of the few shows ive gone to alone and that made it all the more special to me tbh :-) i waited at the middle of the barricade for an hour and had the best view of the show. a very dear memory for me

going to shows alone is underrated imo! i didnt have to worry if my friends were having a good time or not, i could just hella enjoy the moment

Here are the shows I've been to. My favorite was Tom Petty + Stevie Nicks in 2006. Also Buffy Sainte-Marie because I met a lovely boy in the audience and we were together about 2 years. And Pretenders (opening for Stevie) a couple years ago. Just love Chrissie Hynde af. First show was Anthrax, Megadeth, Mötley Crüe, in 2001.

I saw Daughters almost a year ago now in Toronto and it was a crazy show. The singer was bleeding, pulling his hair out and vomiting on the mic. Crazy night and really glad I went and got a spot near the wall to not die in the pit haha.

That's a hard one to answer. One of the top shows I saw was Gwar, Rollins Band, and Green Jello at the Palladium in Hollywood. Henry Rollins stood next to me while we were watching Green Jello's silliness. Then he went backstage and then on stage and his band tore it up. Powerful and intense. Then Gwar finished us off by soaking everyone in front with colored slime while doing obnoxious skits, while playing metal. I liked the flashlight breasts, and the meat grinder very much.

But several TSOL shows topped that. Unfortunately those all blended together in my mind.

Bad religion is always a good show. They are great live. Behemoth or Watain were amazing. Watain had real dead props and behemoth just has a great performance on stage.

I think I have to go with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (2017).

He's one of my favorite artists and I ended up winning tickets. It was so surreal to be there, singing some of my favorite songs along with the crowd. And I was so lucky that I got to see him before he died just a few months later. The concert could have sucked and it still would hold a special place in my heart.

Runner up would probably be Kelly Clarkson with Pentatonix (2015).
I've been a big fan of Kelly Clarkson since I was like 6. She rarely seems to tour near me so I try to see her when she's here. Anyways, the concert was at an outdoor amphitheater and about an hour before the concert was set to start there was a torrential downpour. I guess a lot of people ended up not coming because they bumped everybody up so the people with lawn seats didn't have to sit in the mud. I went with my cousin and instead of sitting in the back row we decided to stand in an area towards the side of the stage. It was a better view and we didn't mind standing.
Towards the end of the show this guy approached one of the ushers we were standing by all night. After a short conversation the guy approached us, asked if it was just the two of us, and ended up escorting us to the floor!
Kelly always puts on a great show and getting to see even part of it so close up was a dream come true.

All time favourite would've been Green Day. Saw them at a festival in 2013, and the way they can control the massive crowd was hypnotizing. Second fave was Avatar in 2019, they played at a fairly small club but went all in, and the energy was insane.

As a honorary mention, tho I was never too into the band itself, but Bring Me The Horizon had an amazing energy & the light show to go with their performance when I saw them in 2014 (I went cus I wanted to see Pierce The Veil who was supporting them on that tour, but their set was honestly a disappointment. Granted it was a last show of a long tour, but their exhaustion was evident).

Stick To Your Guns' Disobedient Tour in 2014. The Amity Affliction and Being As An Ocean were both there and opened for STYG. Super small dive bar in Jacksonville, FL. Some kid got his forehead split open by a stagediver who was wearing steeltoed boots. Good times.

In November of 2017 I saw The Aquabats play a show in Anaheim at one of the big venues. It was my fav show of all time because apparently while skanking, my ID fell out of my pocket. The audience passed it up and MC Bat Commander stopped the show to find it's owner, me. He said my name, and then him and Jimmy the Robot were bragging about how tall I am before they passed it back. <3

My other favorite show ever just for the music's sake was going to 8bit electronic music aka "chiptune" shows ran by 8bitla. Such good memories with them all.

The best show I've ever seen was David Byrne touring "American Utopia" around july 2018.
12 musicians or so on an empty stage, every musician carrying their own instruments (including percussionists) and dancing around, having fun. No big stage production, no big crazy lights, led screens or inflatable pigs flying around. As a major Talking Heads fan, I was in tears for most of the show... It's almost as good as "Stop Making Sense" !

Aphex Twin comes right after that. Saw him summer of 2019. His way of mixing sound & light is again just plain awesome. Didnt't heard any track or song I knew, but was totally blown away by the trippy vibe, and man, the BASS was so louddd. I had to slap my face to get back to Earth when the show was over...

I also saw Kraftwerk two times (2014 - performing "Tour de France" then 2015 with their robots on stage) and went to tears each time at the beginning of the show : their music is so minimalistic, but their sound is HUGE when they're on stage. Ralf Hutter doesn't talk & joke around much, but their visual sense is incredible.

I've been to a lot of shows, but the best $100 I ever spent was to see Slayer on their farewell tour.

Got pit tickets and got to see Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth, Lamb of God and Slayer. The energy that was in that pit was one of the greatest feelings I have ever experienced.

Motherfolk always have the best shows! They’re not very big but they always bring awesome energy. I went to a show with a friend not knowing much about them but I fell in love after watching them. Every time they come to town now, I make sure I’m there!

My most memorable shows:

Metallica in 2003 - I was 14 and it was my first concert ever. The venue was the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, and there was no seating; everyone just found their place somewhere on the massive field. Dozens of Mosh pits sprang up simultaneously in different areas. Everyone was friendly. I was fascinated.

Beastie Boys in 2007 - A group I had loved for a long time and thought I'd never get to see. I ended up seeing them two times in as many  days, and both shows were amazing.

Roger Waters: The Wall in 2010 - A captivating experience from start to finish. The performance, as well as the theatrics, were astounding. Never seen anything like it, before or since.

Lower Class Brats in 2015 - Completely spur of the moment. By the end of the night, my friends and I were all battered and bruised from getting knocked around in the pit all night, but we were so happy we'd gone.

Danny Elfman in 2015 - Where I got to hear my favorite singer/songwriter/composer sing "Dead Man's Party" live for the first time in 20 years. He hadn't announced he'd be doing it so it was a complete surprise. From the  moment I heard that opening riff, I was spellbound.

Omg! Every single time I see Sabaton! Before covid, I had seen them for every one of their last 3 US tours. They always have SO much energy!

They also often co-headline with other bands I love. At their most recent one (2019) they played with Hammerfall. Not only did I catch one of the hammerfall guitar picks, but I also got to meet them!

At their other shows I've been to they co-headlined with Kreator for one, and the other they had Battlebeast opening for them!

Cannibal corpse/dying fetus.

I got to meet Alex  Webster and shake his sweaty hand which was amazing for me because he is my bass idol. I've seen corpse twice but the show they did with fetus was better.

Descendents in Shanghai, 2019. Small club show, locals went nuts.

Brand New in Manchester (ENG), 2007. Show changed my life and made my drop out of Uni.

The feeling of comradeship at any Stiff Little Fingers show is invigorating.

Alice Cooper is the textbook EVENT. Only Rammstein have ever come close to the pageantry IMO.

Euros Childs is a good weaver of whimsy.

There was a lot of great ones but the best was my local thrash festival called Blood in Blood out. The moshpits were insane asf !!! I was in that bitch the whole way through. The first band was a hxc band w a title fight influence so that was a vibe especially their chill songs. The other ones after were my other local favorites with other bands I didn't know. It was insane though !!! Stage diving and moshing was rampant, I was running fast asf crossfaded. Jumping, going all out. I also loved how we all chilled outside in between sets. Next thing ya know, we are moshing on stage with the closing band, and I stage dived off the drumset and was spun in the air. I'm certain I ended up on that bands music video lmao. Shit was insane !!!! lol and for the remainder of the night we all just chilled outside, talked, and I smoked out my favorite local thrash bands. It was a movie

I was thinking maybe Green day but it seems to be hard to find many performances in the spring. So does anyone have any emo concert recommendations?
