separating male and female students??

There's this system in the Philippines on which they separate the students based on their gender, which can be suspicious if you think about it.

First, there are two subjects that is similar but is different in the same way. H.E. (Home Economics) and T.L.E. (Technology and Livelihood Education), which is similar because they teach how to handle materials, equipment, and tools and their function. Though, they differ from which field you use it, H.E. covers mostly about tools, material, and equipment that we generally use at home on the other hand T.L.E. talks about fields like carpentry and technology.

The toxic part is, they separate students based on their gender. The male students will take the T.L.E. Subject in the first until second quarter and the female students in H.E. Subject. Although they switch the male and female students after 2 quarters, it's still unequal to separate pupils because of their gender.

In my opinion, they should let the pupils choose what subject to learn in two quarters and then switch after it. Because if you want to advocate a healthy learning environment, they should also consider their student's preferences.

bonus= when they switch the students to the subjects, their lessons aren't even the same as the last two quarters, which is really weird

agreed! i have taken up the major of food and nutrition and before that did home economics as a guy, and have consistently been the only guy in my classes and heard similar stories from girls in engineering/ICT classes. it wasn't enforced gender rules that made this be, rather just difference in interests between the guys and girls, but the philippines really should allow for boys and girls to choose whatever subject they wish. :(
