TV and Long-Form content

Do you think that Youtube videos (around the 25-30 min range) would count as โ€œTVโ€ considering that watching something on letโ€™s say, Netflix would be considered โ€œTVโ€ right? then that would make streaming long-form content on youtube also considered TV. Just trying to get thoughts on this topic lolmao

TLDR: No LMAOO

Idk. I don't think it would be. Cuz I mean they're made for completely different platforms. A TV show was made for TV. Of course you can watch it elsewhere nowadays, but that's what the contents original purpose was; to appear on TV and vice versa. People aren't making content on YouTube to be a TV star. They want to be a YouTube star and make videos for YouTube.ย That's their intended purpose. And I mean, you don't necessarily have to conform the criteria of being a TV show down to 25-30 mins. Take kids shows for example, like the Mickey Mouse shorts that used to be on Disney Channel. Those can get rather short, but because it was made for TV, it's still TV show. The length doesn't really matter. YouTube was made to be something different and it's entirely its own thing now. Heck, even YouTube has a separate service called YouTube TV. The two are too different to fall under the same category of watching tv, no matter how long. If something is long and has multiple episodes/videos on YouTube, people will call it a YouTube show or series or wtv; not a TV show, cuz its not for TV. Same goes for Netflix. Netflix is just the hosting service. Shows that were made for TV are able to be viewed on it. But when something is a Netflix Original, people will often switch and say Netflix show, instead of TV show, cuz that show was made for Netflix. Now if you are watching YouTube or wtv on a TV, then sure you can say you're watching TV because you literallyย are. That's a way to just be general. But it's when you get into the "What are you watching on TV" that you'll need to be more specific. Depending on the content, it can be easy easy to tell if you're watching a YouTube video or not too. Completely different vibe.ย

Sorry, I know this is repetitive, but this just all how it's fitting in my head. Not even sure if this is quite the response you're looking for lol
