I really appreciate it! Not a huge deal if we don’t, but I’d love to really push the limits on this and see what it can do! I could actually see this being immensely useful for a lot of older devices 

i also asked for access but the creator said i might get informed about updates but that ended up never happening and reddit deleted the past messages i had with him.

saw the invite open message posted here and i tried talking to him to no response. i know ppl are busy and stuff like that, its normal. but its just something that got my interest and i wanted to see it for myself.

maybe it would also help to ask him about the beta access if the creator is active on discord.

yes it has a mobile app now! technically it's just a patched version of the old youtube app, but that's not really important

Versions of youtube from 2007-2020 are pretty much unusable due to the YouTube always changing API and adding update screens to tell you to update to the latest version and some people even say that they are unpatchable/unfixable. I've seen people fix old versions of youtube apps from these years but it was only for jailbroken old iOS devices.

I want to have the old design of youtube back I hate the current mobile youtube with rounded corners.

Edit:Also is this app owned by the owner of yt2009 or is it a patched app from oficial youtube ?

this is a patched version of the app from 2009, i dont understand how it works internally since im not the one who patched it but i do know that it works really well

i believe that it doesnt break because it's using the frontend instead of grabbing videos directly from youtube, but im not sure

Edit:I wonder how they patched the youtube app from 2009 since 2009 is 14 years ago and alot has changed since then such has the API. I really wonder how this work because maybe we can fix alot of other versions of the youtube app and even other apps.

How are you supposed to get flash working for the era-accurate player since Flash isn't really supported by most browsers like Chrome or Firefox now?

pale moon or other flash available browsers, if your browser cant use flash then the other players wont work. Ruffle will also not work

the html player is better in any situation that doesnt involve a userstyle though, so you dont have to worry about that

Hey I just asked for an invite on reddit, I know it takes a while, tho whats the likelyhood of getting invited, do  most people who ask get in or are they a bit more picky with their selection process

i dont think theyre picky, but they give out invites in waves, so if you do get to check out the beta it might be a while since they just did a wave of invites yesterday
