rewritten games anyone?

clearly everyone here is a fan of nostalgia, or just the way the internet used to be. and for me that craving goes beyond just social media. as someone who has been playing video games since i could remember, online MMORPGS used to be a massive part of my childhood. so for the fellow people out there like me, here is my list of old internet games that have been rewritten.

rewritten games

Toontown rewritten - free and fairly active rewrite of toontown that gets decent updates. more true to the og game

Toontown: Corporate Clash - a reimagined experience of Toontown, regular updates and free.

The Legend of Pirates Online - recreation of Pirates of the Caribbean Online

Moshi Monsters Rewritten - recreation of the original Moshi Monsters, free and nothing is locked behind a membership paywall like the OG was

New Club Penguin - there have been a few rewrite of club penguin but this one seems like the best one i can find right now

We The Pixies - a pixie hollow rewrite, i dont think this one is as extensive as the other one but the experience is more nostalgic in my opinion.

Fairyabc - another pixie hollow rewrite but this one seems like it has more of a community to it.

MyVMK - recreation of Virtual Magic Kingdom or VMK. this one was my childhood

virtual family kingdom - not tetchily a rewrite but this game popped up around the time of VFK closing. it is similar is style and play but not disney themed, i believe its history themed.

Fantage single player - a small rewrite of parts of fantage, a cute revisit for nostalgia but i dont think its playable long term

Zanterite - a zwinky rewrite. havnt tried this one but seems decent and has some what of a comunity.

neopets classic - sign ups currently closed, but a classic version of neopets. the official Neopets is still running and fairly active though

some wip rewrites

barbiegirls rewritten - a revival of barbiegirls.com, no release date yet

Millsberry - just a repo of someone's rewrite project. no commits for two years so not promising.

miuchiz reborn - a private server and clone of the Miuchiz online game, not open yet it looks like.

UB Funkeys - no likes, but i know there are some people out there trying to rewrite this game, nothing solid though.

If you find anything else i dont have on my list, please share so i can add!

Maaan I would be so excited if Millsberry came back. That was my childhood alongside neopets. I loved the grocery store lol.

I heard that a remake of smallworlds is being made, it's called "minimania". I'm not sure how well that's going though but that site was also a big chunk of my teen years. My main wish is that it wouldn't be so hard to play old java games. There's ways, but even then it's a hit or miss. I miss a lot of those games.

There was also a McDonalds online game, I wish I could play it again. I think it's called Happy Studio. I play Club Penguin and Moshi Monster sometimes.

I would personally say Club Penguin Journey is the most popular Club Penguin Private Server.

I enjoy playing that and Toontown rewritten. I may have to check out The Legends of Pirates Online since this was a game that I only played a bit due to poor performance on my old windows XP machine.

Glad Neopets is officially making a comeback too!

PIXIE HOLLOW!!!! I remember in 2013 getting together with all my friends in Havendish Square where everyone else gathered to say our goodbyes until we were forcefully booted off, Pixie Hollow is ingrained into my soul and apart of my childhood and I haven't checked up on how We The Pixies(can't remember if it was that one or Fairyabc) is going since about 2014 when it was in the beginning stages of development, thank you so much for this post and reminding me!!!
