Plus Size Fashion

What kinda style do you have if you are plus size and why? Also Is it expensive to wear what you wear?

And for anyone having a hard time finding a style, what kinda style mostly has your attention?

I'm becoming an adult and I really wanna dress up more once I get the money for it. So im getting ideas to see what imight feel comfritable in the most.

unfortunately if you're plus size most name brands are off limits (not bc they don't make clothes for ppl who are plus size, but bc they don't make form fitting clothes and tend to over charge) and so you only have two real options imo - go to an online fashion shop like shein, boohoo or torrid (and deal with the fact that their clothing practises r inherently immoral) or go the used route as that will most often find u the best fitting clothes for cheap, so thrift shops, ebay or poshmark etc etc. mostly it depends if u want smth new or if u want more stylish clothes compared to more functional clothes, if u have the time ebay/thrift shop deep diving is the best bet for finding your vibe for value. for me personally, when i was plus size i always went for button up shirts, the type that would cover up my curves and stomach etc and i paired it with a t shirt as an undershirt with a tank top underneath to give the appearance of cohesiveness. i find chinos or cargo trousers r better then jeans as well for trousers, with mountain wear like walking trousers and walking shoes being the best bet for comfort and self confidence.

I'm about a U.S 14-16 and a UK 18-20 so I can fit into some regular XL clothes but for the most part I just have to scower the internet for good brands that fit. Some of more common brands online are ASOS and H+M. I buy pants from there along with buckle. For clothes in my style I order from killstar and distrubia

newcleardawn has great ideas. I'd say that if you could, its always good to learn a bit of sewing even if its only by hand. its great for hemming pants that fit but are too long, adding more space for clothes that almost fit, etc. you can usually pick up basic sewing supplies from dollar stores and get cheap fabric at thrift stores. Ive been using the same piece of fabric to make alterations for a few years now and it only cost a couple bucks.

if youre interested, having at least a few small and large needles is a good start (multiple in case of needles breaking), sewing scissors, a couple spools of thread (I suggest at least one spool of black and white since that's usually what I use the most, plus other common colors) and any fabric that piques your interest. sometimes thrift stores carry sewing machines if you decide to get one and most thrift stores will let you check to see if it still works before you buy it.
