I would say anything by Soulfly, they are best known for their songs eye for an eye and primitive. They are classic thrash metal. They also have a couple of songs with Corey Taylor form slipknot and Fred Drust and DJ lethal from limp bizkit.

i gotcha! you didn't specify any subgenres, so heres a variety of cool stuff i like :>

Anything by Death (one of the first death metal bands. they have not made a single bad album, all of their stuff is fantastic)
Vacuous - Katabasis (death metal)
Батюшка (Batushka) - Литоургия (Litourgia), Панихида (Panihida) (black metal with russian orthodox chants thrown in there)
Bathory - Bathory, Blood Fire Death, Under The Sign of the Black Mark (thrash metal/viking metal/black metal depending on the album. one of the early and most influential black metal bands)
Flesh Megalith - Flesh Megalith (death metal)
Black Tongue - Nadir (more on the deathcore side of things, but still pretty damn good imo)
Maudlin of the Well - Leaving Your Body Map (progressive death metal)
Bolt Thrower - Realms of Chaos (death metal. bolt thrower is the sigma's choice of death metal lol)
Oathbreaker - Rheia (interesting screamo(?)/black metal combination)
Ahab - The Call of the Wretched Sea (funeral doom)
Beherit - Drawing Down the Moon (black metal)
Anything by Boris (mostly doom and sludge metal, but their stuff is extremely varied, highly recommend them)
Liturgy - H.A.Q.Q. (experimental black metal)
Full of Hell & Merzbow - Full of Hell & Merzbow (powerviolence + N O I S E)
Nails - Unsilent Death (grindcore)
Victory Over The Sun - Nowherer (black metal)
Deafheaven - Sunbather (black metal/shoegaze combo. one of the best albums ever made imo)
Voidsphere - To Sense | To Percieve (black metal)
Anything by Protest the Hero (progressive metal)
Mastodon - Crack the Skye (progressive metal)
Hell - Hell III (doom/sludge metal)
Melvins - Lysol (drone metal)
Anything by Acid Bath (sludge metal)
Boris & Merzbow - Rock Dream (live album with a bunch of boris's songs featuring merzbow's noise. probably one of my favorite live albums)
Khanate - Clean Hands Go Foul (experimental drone/doom metal with some of the most visceral screams i have ever heard)
The Angelic Process - Weighing Souls With Sand (doom metal)
Electric Wizard - Dopethrone, Come My Fanatics... (stoner doom metal. all their stuff is pretty good, but these are the best imo)
Necrophagist - Epitaph (technical death metal)

I would recommend checking a finnish band called Charon. Unfornunately they have quitted in 2011. You can easily find then on spotify. They started making deathmetal in 1992, but switched to goth metal. My favourite songs from them are As we die, Deep water and If.

Dawn Ray'd. Their new single went so fucking hard. I'm looking forward to the album drop. Also Smackbound released a new single today which I heavily enjoyed, but I am also partial to them because I'm a huge Wintersun fan and Teemu Maantysari is the guitarist for both.
