Looking for metal recommendations

metal is one of my fav genres, some my fav metal bands of all time are sodom, sepultura, darkthrone, g.i.s.m., sadistik exekution, blasphemy, and many others; what are your favs and what kind of stuff are you looking for? i could prob give you recommendations based on that

I would always reccomend some Varials, Sworn In, and a dash of Northland will set you on an interesting path

I don't really listen to metal but Andrew W.K.'s music hits. Plus he hosted destroy build destroy on CNreal :)

For black metal, some of the less well known ones I like are Celestial Bloodshed, Frosten, Soulless (DSBM,) Elderwind (atmospheric,) and Nocturnal Depression (DSBM.) For um, other metal I guess? I stumbled across Unreqvited recently and their album "Stars Wept To The Sea" is a masterpiece. Also, seconding the mgla rec above.

I can certainly recommend a whole host of black metal albums I've been enjoying lately. It tends towards the lo-fi "verging on evil noise rather than metal" end of the spectrum, but I've ruined my ears and brain with this for well over a decade now ;p (please note all links go to either to their respective bandcamp pages, or full album uploads to youtube)

My go to are always Pantera, Metallica, Slayer, anything Max Cavallera has done, Anthrax, Lamb of God, A7X, Slipknot. I love alot of Metalcore. Hard Rock like Godsmack, Deftones, Breaking Benjamin.

if you havent checked out metallicas early stuff you definitley should but anthrax slayer and megadeth are kinda the big 4 of thrash Dio iron maiden and judas priest set the standard for heavy metal and from there the best thing to do is just keep exploring any recommendations just try it out a bit before you make  a judgment call

Mercyful Fate's first 2 albums Melissa and Don't Break the Oath are about as good as traditional heavy metal gets
