so my dad (d) and his friend (df) were heading back to df's house. so df has a sister who is out at the time. they come back from hanging out and d sees something (he told me it looked like a person) in one of df's windows. d says "I thought you said your sister wasn't in?" df said "she isn't" they had a panic and thought someone had broken in but nobody was in the house and nothing was missing.

so was it a robber who stole and touched nothing or sm paranormal??

Sounds pretty paranormal to me! Do you know if the house has had other tenants before? Or is df the first person to be living there?

I think it depends tbh. It really could’ve been the pareidolia effect. But if the house is old, it could also possibly be a paranormal entity. If neither, maybe someone or something is living in the house and they didn’t know.

This more less happened to my dad a long time ago at his friends GF's place. He needed a place to crash for the night & he woke in the dead of night to see his buddy giving him a weird look from a chair that was facing him. Dad shrugged it off as him messing with him & went back to sleep. in the morning he asked the girl when her BF got back home & why he was messing with him, to realise he was never even there! Sometimes doppelgängers are not a bad omen but who knows lol. I've even seen one of my brother, who's still alive, so it could be something that just happens in certain bloodlines.

Probably paranormal! My dad use to work at a cemetery. And he'd see all kinds of things. Things out of the corner of his eye. There'd be strange noises and such. So did ur dad see it out of the corner of his eye?? That would make sense because that's usually how ghost or what not show up.

It could have been a deceased person, someone showing through from another timeline possibly. Scientists do acknowledge other dimensions. I'm glad it wasn't an intruder though, I would be more afraid of that scenario. There really isn't another explination if both your father and his friend saw the same figure at the same moment. There could be other factors of course, but it seems that someone was there. Did your father's friend ever talk aobut other experiences?

Imagine how scary it would be that someone robbed your house but they took nothing. You could of known nothing of what they did, they could be living in their walls in fact. Not sure, scary though.

Wow, that's quite the story! Situations like that can be really eerie and unsettling. When faced with strange or unexplained situations, it's good to approach them logically before jumping to conclusions.

1. Reflection or Light: Sometimes, windows can play tricks on us. It could've been a reflection from a nearby source, a passing car, or even a play of shadows.

2. Animal: Occasionally, animals like a cat or a bird might cast a shadow or be mistaken for something else, especially in dim light.

3. Robber: If it was an intruder, there should've been signs of a break-in, or they might have left in a hurry upon realizing people were returning. However, if nothing was missing and there were no signs of forced entry, this seems less likely.

4. Paranormal: While many people are fascinated by ghost stories and supernatural explanations, it's always good to rule out all the logical explanations first.

Given that nothing was taken, and there were no signs of anyone being inside, my bet would be on some optical illusion or play of light. Still, always good to stay cautious and maybe even install some security cameras just for peace of mind. How did your dad and his friend react afterwards? They must've been quite shaken up!
