Forum: Writing and Poetry

ive recently taken up writing as a mental coping mechanism, but I cant seem to get behind it . its feels like work , so I  had to make it fun in order to actually write (writing backwards) .

but in writing poetry (for school) I've grown really fond ,but don't know how to write poetry without it feeling like work.

any tips? how to make it not a chore ? structure and topics ?

i think its really important to let go of the idea that poetry has to look or sound one certain way. whatever u feel, write it!! its raw and true!! eventually you will find new ways to express yourself through words :))

i also recommend finding poets you really like! it heavily influences your own style and gives you a general idea of what poetry is and how different everyone writes it. i personally like richard siken, franz kafka, and virginia woolf!

Hello, in this case, you can have a look for some practical writing tips which might be helpful. I have the same algorithm of actions when I work on something important. For example, when I needed some help in order to write a resume I used the source I came across online. You may also visit this site in order to get more info.
