Kandi/Scene questions

ok so a few days ago I found out about Kandi and I have questions, MANY QUESTIONS

ok so, can you only use pony beads? I have these weird translucent gem looking-ish ones and they are cute but idk if they would work for cuffs/ if they would be considered kandi

also do you have to go to raves/music festivals to make kandi? I think kandi is cool and I wanna make it but I don't have anywhere that I could go where I would need Kandi (I've never gone to raves + I don't think I'm old enough to go to any, same with music festivals) I also don't have any people that I could trade with, do you have to trade kandi or can you just keep it?

also does Scene have subgenres?

I know that there is Scemo but idk if that is an "official" subgenre or if it even is a subgenre of scene

do you have to have the scene hairstyle to be scene? my hair is NOWHERE near long enough for it (and my hair cant do that side sweep thingy) and I don't want to dye my hair

I don't have a very good grasp of what scene clothing is, I kinda have the gist of it but idk

help plz :'/

ok so im just going to answer each question to the best of my ability lmao

personally for my kandi i use all different kinds of plastic beads, shapes r a favorite of mine to give my cuffs n shit visual interest. idk how your beads youre talking about look but im assuming they'd work fine in a cuff. i'd recommend using pony beads for the base and decorating with those beads, though

no, you don't have to go to raves & music festivals to make kandi. but learning about rave culture n stuff is pretty interesting and i highly recommend it!!

scene itself is pretty broad, so idk if there's specific subgenres or not tbh?? there's a lot of different music genres that go along w scene n theres quite a few different ways to dress (i.e. mall scene or like "myspace scene" ?? n then just normal 2000s clothes w the scene hair to name a few that i personally enjoy dressing in)

and no, you dont HAVE to have scene hair to be scene if you listen to the music, but scene is far more style based than emo & the hair is like the biggest part of ti so i'd recommend it, especially if you're calling yourself a scene kid frequently lmao

and for the hair dye, what brand of dye do you use?? knowing that could help me give you a few tips. i can also go more in depth on scene style if u want!! i feel like ive written too much already LMAO

I have this "Color Jamz" hair dye, I'll have to bleach my hair first before I put it in, but I don't want to bleach my hair because the hair dye is only semi-permanent :|

PLZ do go more in-depth, ur very helpful :)

can you help me with scene music too? I like MCR but I'm pretty sure that's emo or punk or smth, not scene
