i really enjoyed mgs2- i prefer more linear paths and stuff to open world stealth, and i really like the story too ^_^

mgs3 is my fav and also it was my first metal gear game. even though it was over half a year ago, i still haven't played it myself..

Hard to answer but I think MGS3 is my favorite and it totally isn't because of The Boss or anything.
