This came to my mind when I revisited my myspace93 profile, I noticed that commenters used to use cute gifs to say things like "thanks for the add" or "have a nice day" and I think it makes the conversation climate on the site that much more lively to have such a feature.
Here's an example I found in the comments from my old profile:

Definitely would add more life to the conversation’s and I don’t think it would add much more stress to the servers either.

I like this idea. The user could toggle whether or not they allow images in comments on their profile too. This site hasn't been updated in forever though so I doubt it will happen.
