Favorite childhood game that turned out to be trash?

Sonic and the Secret Rings, I mean, it's a ok game and I used to love it as a kid but after playing it once again years later it's only weak part it's the gameplay. Other from that, we have one of the most interesting Sonic transformations ever.

Madagascar 2, it is a very trash mini-game collection with an overworld, but I loved it as a kiddo.

I will say, Barnyard is pretty good as a game, and it's also a mini-game collection with an overworld, but the overworld is really fun and interactive.

One of the first games I ever played was Spore when I was about 6. Loved it as a kid, my source of love for video games, space, aliens, all that. Played it again and the only good part was the character customizer. What a shame.

Crash bandicoot purple on the GBA. It was a shitty crash and spyro crossover game that had a TON of potential. but they just turned it into a mini-game bundle thats hidden behind a crappy platformer, where you basically play the same 10 minigames for 4-6 hours.
