Book recs?

After book recs!

Anything would be great, but particularly looking for realistic slice of life/bildungsroman (think 'A Little Life') or horror/thrillers. I've been stuck with Stephen King in that department and would love to branch out to other authors in his genre, but I have no idea where to start.

Mariana Enriquez's The Dangers of Smoking in Bed and Things We Lost in the Fire are so good. They're short story collections. The stories are just  off putting and will fill you with excitement and dread. She's amazing basically
