mechanical animals is probably his best overall. although portrait has some of the best guitar work out of all the albums because of scott (RIP)
far from his best but eat me drink me is his most underrated i feel and probably his strongest album since post-holy wood (controversial opinion, maybe? but his work has stagnated since then) and he was really stepping into newer ground with its more sad and tragic themes. i can't recall if he said it's his most personal album, but it sure feels like it. just an honorable mention!
