I have tons of these! I’ll give out a variety of them here (most are 2000s, but there’s some that are 1990s and 2010s).
As Good As Dead - Local H
Post grunge concept album about a small town. Second album from the duo originally consisting of Joe Daniels on drums and Lucas Scott on guitar/bass/vocals. Lucas had to install a separate output and pickup on his guitar to record the bass parts. Joe Daniels, the original drummer, was sued in 2020 over illegally selling band posters.
Somewhat Literate - Retirement Party
Midwest emo debut album that truly shocked me when I first listened to it. I wasn’t a huge fan of introspective midwest emo, but I think I’ll listen to more because of this band. It’s also very rare to see a girl fronting an emo band, but I like it.
Oh, Inverted World - The Shins
Indie pop/indie rock/psychedelic album that came out of a quarter life crisis for the frontman. A little bit of word of mouth got him a Sub-Pop deal.
Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand
Dance-punk/art-punk album; probably my favorite from the Glasgow quintet. The bassist (Bob Hardy) didn’t even know how to play bass before recording the album, but the rhythm guitarist/vocalist (Alex Kapranos) taught him how to play well.
Interventions and Lullabies - The Format
Indie pop with some alternative rock and power pop influences. First album by the duo of singer Nate Ruess (yes, one of the guys from fun.) and Sam Means (multi-instrumentalist).

Hello! below are two moods, with five songs each. Go nuts!
LOUD FAST RAAAGH!
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Gamma Knife (more in the realm of Lo-Fi Garage Psych-Rock)
CIVIC - Taken by Force (Australian Punk!)
Mastodon - Blood and Thunder (A staple of metal, really a good place for everyone)
Turnstile - Stress (One of many headbangin' hardcore tracks from the Baltimore punk band!)
Drain - Feel the Pressure (another hardcore band with amazing ability!)
Chilln, laxn, etc.
Mac DeMarco - Moonlight on the river (A quiet piece about strained family ties with a nice psychedelic breakdown at the end)
Masayoshi Takanaka - Tokyo Reggie (A fast paced Japanese Funk song with a lot of heart! note: lyrics are sung in Japanese)
Кино - Спокойная Ночь / Kino - Spokoynaya Noch' (A Soviet Post-Punk classic! note: lyrics are sung in Russian)
B.B. King - The Thrill is Gone (A somber piece from one of the best Blues musicians to ever play)
The Buttertones - Eros (a calm song full of romantic swells inspired by greek myth. Listen to all their stuff if you get the chance!)
