This is a poem I wrote sometime last year, I'm not a professional writer or anything so feel free to leave feedback haha
There were so many things you never said
Behind the soft curtain of your sunlit hair
We'd sit for hours at a time
But you never told me.
We grew up and grew apart
Like driftwood on the ocean shore
I tried so hard for you to join me
On the sands of that stupid beach.
But further and further you left my side
"We'll find eachother again one day"
But the splinters you left in my side
Never washed out.
You meant everything to me.
Your eyes were like a forest
But when I tried to look into them all I heard was your silence
You told me our branches were intertwined
Our roots would hold us together
But we both knew it wasn't true
When storms were headed our way.
I remember the day not long after we met
The day you kissed my hand
And I never forgot that simple touch
And I'm starting to think
She was more than a crush.
