Forum: GNU/Linux Group

Everyone wants it in linux community but I don't want.
It will fill linux forums with newbies, virus will start popping up, linux kernel will become more rusty... I'm very negative person. Do you want to linux become mainstream?

Linux is already mainstream. On servers. In Android phones. On the desktop, who cares. Some people like it. Some of them need help. That's normal. As for malware, I'm tired of hearing it. No, Linux is NOT protected only because it's little used. It's proven secure. And see above: it's been mainstream on servers for decades. Malware authors would love to target servers. They just can't.

It depends - for some usecases it might be better. Since windows is bulking up (why do you need 40+ GB for os??) and is forcing ordinary people to nonsence that they don't need and - as they later find out - don't want. For basic school use or for older people browser applications and libreoffice are usually all they need and it's without shady tricks to get them into azzure ad, onedrive or 365 subscriptions.

For office/company use probably not because of ad and legacy stuff.
