This thread is for only me and Bailey, please don't continue the story! We're happy to receive feedback, however. Anyway, let's get started!
I stood outside my house, rain falling fast and hard. My coat was soaked through, leaving me trembling. The door opened, revealing my mother in a robe and slippers.
"Ember! You can't stand there all night!"
"I find that I can."
She sighed.
"Come in when you're ready, I'm leaving the door unlocked."
I nodded, and she closed the door. The warm light stopped pouring out, and only the streetlights glowed. It was like a movie, in some ways. If you added a cinematic camera shot and some melodramatic music, I'd win an oscar for my acting.
As I stood there, a car sped by, splashing mud on me.
Yep, definitely a movie.
