I still have not found a better forum. Maybe I should try another site entirely.

But I have the weekend off. So yay.

Hey Parker. I'm Rob. Not sure we have met. I haven't been as active as I was in the spring.

It's dead here today. Lots of people complaining about the heat. I want to leave work early to run some errands.

Its not a stupid question, and your life is not lame Stove. See, I can actually be nice for once!

Most of the world is lame, that is a different story.

A block party is when the neighborhood in a city (New York Doyle's this for sure-not sure the others) shuts the street down and everyone comes out to mingle and drink. Once we had one and it was on the 4th of July so people were setting firecrackers off in the street. Kids were riding their bicycles up and down the neighborhood and everyone was casually yapping with one another. It was a good way to get to know your neighbors. If you wanted to know them that is lol

You mentioned you're from Texas. This officially makes you the third person from Texas I met that I actually enjoy talking to (Second on Spacehey).

Yeah I really wish I was older when those block parties are going on. It's just hours of fun.

We've lived in our neighborhood for seven years and just had our first block party a month or two ago. They catered tacos, and we just drank and chatted. Bounce house for the kids...I wanted to get in there, haha. *launches kids into space*

@Koala    Nice! I really would love to go to one of those things. It's like a bucket list item.

@MVP     Covid sucks. I've had it thrice now I believe and twice since May. Only the first time I went back to work in May, did I get it bad enough to lose my sense of smell and taste.  It's annoying for sure. Glad you recovered.

As for yard sale finds, this year is been good to me. I'm actually supposed to drive a town over after work today to dig through a lady's shed (No Jokes!). Hoping to find some more good stuff (she had Dreamcast games a few weeks ago).

This is my last week's haul. $104.50 for everything and the Super Nintendo console alone is worth $107. Four of these games go for $40+. The Halo 4 Limited Edition in particular is about $90.

Yup! Second best haul of the year. I forgot to mention the blue Gameboy Advance SP is also another $90 but it is in need of a deep cleaning.

I wake at 440am, to get there by 530 every Sunday. I hate it. I am not a morning person lol. But I do it because my competition tries to get there before six as well. We get along, so atleast it is friendly. He has a game store and I just bought a few games off of him recently actually.

This is the years best haul (and one of my best ever in eight years)

We walked to a couple of tables and came to one which had a few XBOX 360 games set up. Today was the day I wore my N64 shirt which instantly caused the man to strike a conversation with us because he had gotten a business card from another gentleman (likely the guy we've bought from and competed with for years) and told me he brought all his N64 stuff. I was quite disheartened at first because I had figured he was dead set on selling to the guy with the store. So, he goes into the passenger side door and brings out a banana box with a Grape N64 system and controller on top. Naturally I knew this would be an epic haul but also expected the price to be relatively high. We poke around a bit, my friend and I, while chatting with the guy and notice most of the boxed games are sports and of the loose games, there are some notable titles. Super Mario 64 x2 and Pokemon Stadium etc. We also noticed a stack for NES game manuals and a Playstation with controllers buried underneath. My friend eventually asks what he would be willing to sell the whole thing for, and the answer his wife gave us yielded no response from either of us, but absolutely floored me. $35 for the whole box!

Knowing roughly what the system went for alone ($200) and that the other guy would probably only bump it up to $40 for the lot (understandably in a way), I knew there was little time to think.

1) The reseller would be here soon regardless.
2) If they were willing to take $35 now, surely there was a chance they would sell to us if I made an offer.
3) The gentlemen behind the table was still engaging us in conversation, thus preventing me from taking a moment to converse with my friend on the chance we had to offer the man more.

I quickly came to the realization I would have to act quickly and that if I did not offer anything now, the whole box was as good as sold to the other guy.

Thus, on my own accord I piped up and asked "Would you sell to us now and take $60 for everything." Within seconds they both agreed and I quickly fished out three $20 bills to give to the guy. Me and my friend walked back to my car, dropping the box off. Afterwords, my friend offered me $40 for the N64 system and controller, so I really only paid $20 for everything pictured and a PSone console.

Awesome hauls Rob!

MVP, I have not heard you rant about the Cowboys. But funny enough, they're one of the teams I usually enjoy watching.

Work is ape shit today.
So busy. And the lowlife thieving pieces of subhuman shit are out and about too.

We need better security.
I suggested snipers on the roof, but the upper managers said no... lol

Honestly. As long as I had ZERO interaction with the general public and only dealt with people who at least completed 2 years of college, I'd probably ve ecstatic... Until I found fault with them too. It's just what I do. 🤷
