FRUIT BAT CAVE and friend Caroline in Spring Year 1 no matter what it takes!
Forage forage forage for everything to make seasonal seeds, replant as many trees as you cut down on your farm for the wood, and try to find fiber everywhere you could possibly find it.
Do all that and you should be able to make 50+ tea saplings each month for all the gold!

keep a little bit of everything!! of course sell things to make moneys but try to keep at least one of each thing that you find/catch in chests. it will help you out so so much down the road or when there's a bulletin board request or a npc that you really want to level up with.
also, try not to min-max too much when you play. i love stardew as something to just relax and go through the motions. just have fun when u play!!

when you complete grandpa's shrine and get the statue of perfection, there's a glitch that allows you to get more than one!
if you happen to "lose" the statue, the shrine will give you another, and the game classifies any block that's broken/dropped and not picked back up missing. so if you keep leaving them, there's no real limit to how many you can get :)
genuinely the easiest and fastest way to get iridium ore in the game!
